I recently wrote a fic which covered the topic of sex ed, and I've had something I've long considered fact confirned.

I think in general I'm pretty accurate, but I will admit to "making things up" about minor details - especially about how Go works or about the insei program. I am a lazy writer...
Sex, I think, is something for the imagination, because if you can imagine it, people have DONE it. I do have a friend who's very into researching... I recommend Sailor Mac if you want a lot of accuracy...
There's a certain extent where fic should be wish fulfilment. I know I'm not going to experience three orgasms in a night, but it's fun to WRITE cause I sure as hell would LIKE to... (and that's where I hit the TMI wall).
I do research when there's something I have no clue about (again, Go), but I think people shouldn't take fic as literal truth. When you write, there's imagination involved. I think people need to be able to step back, and realize that there's fiction with the fact.
