Valentines Day
So, I am in no way endorsing or encouraging this asinine "holiday" but I'd just like to note, seeing that this is my journal after all that this Valentines Day was among the top favorites. Ok it probably was my favorite.
First of all, I just started seeing this guy, I mean we're having fun, no titles, just movies, drinking, sleeping, and laughing. Based on this (and my severe hate for the commercialization of Feburary 14th) not only did I not discuss it with him, I didn't even give it a second thought. I went through my regular routine, well I skipped some classes due to the weather, I hung around the rec center for like 5 hours (I LoVe my job... NOT), and called him when I got home at 10:30 as usual.
When I call him he says, "I was just about to go take a shower, can I call you in 10 minutes?" And I'm like, "Sure, no problem, I was really just calling to say whats up." So, I finally eat dinner, hung out in the lounge, wasted time per usual, and finally went to my room just before my phone rang. Mind you I'm still in sweats, bathing suit, and whistle from work. He calls me and says,
"Where are you?"
"What do you mean where am I? I'm in my room, I just got home from work."
"Oh I was trying to look in your window but I'm not sure which is yours?"
"Wait, what? You're at my window?"
"Could you just come open the door? It's kinda cold."
"Wait, you're outside?"
"Lauren, it's cold."
"Alright, alright, I'm coming, what are you doing here, how'd you get here? I'm so confused."
The next thing I know he's walking up to me with a dozen roses, a bottle of white zinfandel, Lost in Translation, and non-chocolate (because he remembered I don't like chocolate) candy... Can you say complete and utter shock for 2 hours?
I don't know where this is going, if it goes anywhere, but I'm really enjoying the now. Sometimes it seems like we've got a lot of potential and other times it seems like the fun could end at any minute and we'll both go our seperate ways. I really hope its the first one.
Don't worry though, I'm still bitter and cynical. <3
