Eric leaves Tuesday...*sigh*

I know I shouldn't think I will miss him, but the truth is I've missed him since we stopped seing each other weekly - I just sort of put it out of my thoughts. Nine years is a lot to invest in a person - And I remember the fun times we had doing things that didn't cost much or anything at all. He believes in the simple things - which I always thought was different for a man who is fairly wealthy on his own. He always encouraged my writing - and would let the Big guy come and visit. I know he thought I was a strange duck, but then I felt the same way! lol I think that is why we got on so well to begin with - and ended up making each other insane. I liked him because he was quiet, thoughtful, and serene (and had a great ass in tight jeans - I'm not ALL cerebral! lol). He liked me because I never knew a stranger, was outgoing, and was always up for an adventure.

I hope he finds whatever it is he is looking for during his years's sabatical - and I hope he manages to stay in touch. But I know him, he won't. Keeping in touch is not a "guy" thing. - and he is definitely a guy.

Fare thee well, my friend.

Good-bye, My Friend

Written by Karla Bonoff

Oh, we never know where life will take us
I know it’s just a ride on the wheel
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel.

So, good-bye, my friend
I know I’ll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
Will take away these tears
It’s okay now
Good-bye, my friend
I’ve seen a lot of things that make me crazy
And I guess I held on to you
We could’ve run away and left, well maybe
But it wasn’t time and we both knew

So good-bye my friend
I know I’ll never see you again
But the love you gave me through all the years
Will take away these tears
I’m okay now
Good-bye, my friend

Life’s so fragile and love’s so pure
We can’t hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
And we never know why
But I’m okay now
Good-bye, my friend
You can go now
Good-bye, my friend
