Stepped in it now, didn't I?
Alright, so here we go, the home stretch and all that.
If all goes by my plan, I'll wake up nice and early at noon tomorrow, which will put me only 6 hours off Korea-time, as opposed to the 14 I'm at now. This is of course going by a wake up time of 4am . . .
So, here we go, this is the actual, real, honest-to-god start of my military career. Part of me wants to come up with a plan to bring about my actual, real, honest-to-god end of my military career right now, but whatever. I really like the Army when I'm there. When I'm not, I remember what it was like to think a lazy day was sleeping to 4 in the afternoon and then driving around everywhere after that. Now I think a lazy day is a day I get out of PT . . . which just happens to be the last 24 days. Oops.
But I'm a Sierra, and I'm proud of that :) Although I did not give my recruiters one single lead on a new prospect the entire time I was there, I did manage to convince three separate people to sign up as Sierras . . . two already did -- they showed me their contracts.
Need to make sure I have good underlings when I get my direct commission, especially if this EarmyU thing actually works out -- 13 months til my BA.
Alright, here I go. Fly off into the sunset . . . err, rise. Let's see how much I can work this one.
Oh yeah, and in case, during the 12 hour flight across the Pacific, if my plane falls outta the big blue into the deep blue, it's been fun y'all. :)
I do want to say that i leave here proud of the people I leave. Those few that I do care about have impressed me yet again. I guess they did the first time for a decent reason, huh? They're all actually moving on, growing up, going to school. I'm amazed. I'm really glad me friends found a way to break the black-hole like hold that this place has on potential. Even more impressed they managed to do it with incredibly less moving and soul-searching. I think they saw what I had to go through and decided to take care of it before it got to that point. :)
