Are they gone? I think they're gone.

[There's a pause]

I would see them, when I went to throw away the trash at night, or when I was on the roof. They would never hurt me, but I saw them leaving the carousel. I don't know why they didn't come after me - maybe they didn't see me.

But I haven't seen any today.

Now they're gone.

why?

I don't think anyone is going to know why. We didn't know why they started leaving either.

Another question, unanswered.

It's what we're used to either way, isn't it?

Are you worried that they aren't running around?

The threat you don't see is worse.

Things going wrong here seems to be a theme with or without the carousel animals.

[ Pause. ]

Did you want to do something about it?

Estelle invited me to go and look at the clock.

What did you say?

[ Though a small point to make...well, the point: ]

If you're going, I'm going.

I said no, Katniss.

Oh.

I guess that's the practical thing to do.

Good.

I don't want you down there anyway.

They say we could learn things, figure them out, but we might not. There isn't a way to know for certain.

I can't really run.

I know.

[ Obviously, she thinks. It's not something she would forget or overlook. ]

[Sigh]

Don't go either.

[ A pause. ]

I won't. You're here. Cinna is here. [ And in pain lately... ] And Rue [ a pause, but eventually she adds ] and Finnick.

[ It's a collective reason enough. ]

You need to give Finnick more credit than that.

'More credit'?

[ She figures the fact that she almost likes Finnick plus her awareness of owing him in regards to Peeta circa the time of the ark, is close enough...or something.... ]
