[retro party action!]
Jean is more than a little aware that parties, especially birthday parties, are rarely thrown for the people whom they're suggesting it be for. It's about the gathering of people, the feelings, the throwing down and other things. A party that isn't celebrating their sudden arrival and pluck surivival skills has been in dire need for a while. Her birthday just serves a legitimate reason.
The theme is set, the people invited, the food and drink prepared. She likes it; the theme that is. It's retro and kitschy without being over the top. At least, she hopes it's not overdone, but when former heroes are involved it is anyone's guess.
In the end it doesn't matter, because fun will happen no matter what. Plus there's the sidebar perk that no one is going to end up dying at the hands of evil party crashers. Well, probably not. They'll have to just wait and see and hope that no one ends up sitting in the cake.
Turning on the music, there's nothing left to do but get the party started.
