I've just begun rereading the first Harry Potter book because I'm trying to introduce my younger cousins to the series. They're lazy readers, sad as it may be, so I've figured out that I need to read alongside them and then quiz them about the chapters to make sure that they've actually been reading and not staring aimlessly at the pages. Anyway, for some reason I began picturing Uncle Vernon as
Mr. Creosote from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (well, in terms of the hair and mustache and body shape; the incessant vomiting not so much). That then made me think of Aunt Petunia as one of Graham Chapman's female characters from Monty Python since he was so tall and lanky, and now I can't stop hearing
his screechy voice whenever Aunt Petunia says anything. Oh, Monty Python, why did you have to come 30 years before Harry Potter? Imagine the brilliant parody they would have come up with.
Pride & Prejudice just came out on Blu-Ray, and I of course want it like I want my next breath. But, I've already bought this movie twice (the regular version, and the two-disc collector's edition with the soundtrack and pretty scrapbook), so buying yet another version, even if it's in HD, seems a bit excessive. Why must I want so many things that I do not need?
I went to the dentist today and he found a new cavity. Sigh. He numbed the right side of my mouth in order to put in a filling, and so when I drank some milk later on in the day, half of my tongue felt cold from the milk while the other half stayed warm. It was probably the oddest sensation I've ever experienced in my life. I wonder if Two-Face ever has to deal with these kinds of things.
