I'm currently reading Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and in it is a reference to the Le Tigre song "My My Metrocard." This immediately makes me think about the first time I heard the song and had thought that the lyrics were "My, my man-shaped car".
After the obligatory giggling about how far off the mark I was all of those years ago (although it's strangely befitting given the band's feminist leanings) and how silly such a thing would be, my thoughts turn to what a man-shaped car would actually be like. Maybe it's a euphemism for a piggyback ride? Or perhaps it's literally a car in the shape of a man, which sounds rather dada, doesn't it?
Going back to the euphemism idea: Maybe I should start calling piggyback rides "man-shaped cars." It could possibly catch on, you never know.
very silly,
