i have soft clay to knit my bones astride

While editing articles earlier today, I came across a piece that included a quote from a young rapper in which he said that his music is very personal and "treal". Myself and the other editors initially thought that it was a typo, but according to Urban Dictionary, it is a combination of the words "true" and "real", and that it is a predominantly used in the Bay Area.

Oh, how I weep for our society.

What summer shows have you all been watching? I know many of you are into Flight of the Conchords, as am I, although I am slightly ashamed to say that I've been listening to the duo for little over a year and yet have just found out that it's Jemaine, not Jermaine. I caught the first two episodes of Burn Notice last Saturday, and while I thought that the pilot was stronger than the second episode, it was rather enjoyable. I'll try to keep up with it if I have the time. I am very much looking forward to Mad Men, which is set in the 1960's advertising world. Even if the writing is awful, which hopefully it is not, I'd still probably watch if just for the costumes and sets. But holy smokes, look at the cast! YoSaffBridge! Connor! Zooey Bartlet! Dennis Martino! (I really hope someone gets that last one.)

I went to the library on my way to work, and you, corellianjedi, will be pleased to know that I checked out Bloodsucking Fiends. It's meant to balance out the heft of Atonement, which looks to be a real heartbreaker if it lives up to the description on the dust jacket. Yes, it is the novel that serves as the basis of the upcoming Keira Knightley/James McAvoy/Romola Garai film, which sounds pretty awesome I might add. I'm down for anything that reunites Keira with Joe Wright, her Pride & Prejudice director. Anyway, I'm happy to be back in the habit of reading again! I was so bad last year in that I hardly read anything outside of textbooks. I think my 100 movies in 2006 list distracted me a good deal, but this year is the complete opposite; I'm reading a lot more and have watched maybe ten movies at most. Funny how things like that work out.

all things considered
