Alex knew that he wasn't completely human. It had really taken him almost a year to get his head around that. Once he was alright with that fact he started to wonder about his great grandfather. About him traveling through space and time. Many night Alex thought about how he would react if he ever traveled the stars. He thought it would just come naturally to him and he would love it. But when he woke up face down in a patch of red grass he was freaked
( ... )
Amy didn't know how long she had been laying there, one knee pulled up and her hands on her stomach -- but it was comfortable enough, not to mention the sound of the small water fountain behind her was very calming.
Once she heard the shout, she then shot straight up on the bench and looked around, her eyes wide as she tried to spot who was doing the yelling.
"... Hello?"
That was when she saw him running towards her, and then she had to look around again. "Er, am I not supposed to be here?"
It was like it was fate. Of all the ways Alex could have walked he chose the path that would led to a person. Although he was beginning to think that he would be lost wandering around this strange place until he died. He has a slight tendency to exaggerate. But no that wasn't happening because he had found this woman.
He started to slow down as he approached the bench the young lady was laying on. He hoped that he wasn't bothering her. He was a little loud and there was a chance she was sleeping. He would feel a little bad if he woke her up.
"I'm not sure," he said in a much quieter voice. "I don't even know where here is, do you? Do you know where we are?" He was really hoping that she had some answers because he was at a loss.
"What? Pff, you mean you don't know where we are?" She made a sort of disbelieving face, until she slightly rolled her eyes a moment later, mostly at herself, "No, I don't either. Sometimes I forget the names... usually they're all too long to even bother, you know?"
Turning, she let her feet touch the ground, her eyes scanning over the young man, "I'm Amy, by the way. What about you?"
Well now Alex wasn't expecting that. "Yeah, I really don't know where we are. I just woke up on the ground," he said a litte surprised. He figured that he would be the only one out of place. She had to know where they were. She just had to. Otherwise he was lost on a strange planet where he probably didn't know anyone. This was just perfect. His mother was going to kill him if she ever found him.
"Alex.. Campbell," he quickly introduced himself to the young red head. Part of him wanted to sit down with her but he just stood there. If neither of them knew where they were he wasn't getting home. Which now he really, really wanted to.
He looked around but couldn't see anyone else. "So you're really not from around here?" he asked hoping that maybe she was a native.
"Nice to meet you, Alex!" she smiled, and she was honestly acting like this sort of thing happened all the time, mostly because she trusted the Doctor with her life, and knew that he would find her, or she would find him -- either way.
"Sorry to disappoint, but the same thing kind of just happened to me. I woke up on this here bench. Not exactly sure where here is, but I'm sure the Doctor will know, once I find him."
Her memory was kind of fuzzy as well. The last thing that she really remembered, was leaving Leadworth in the TARDIS, and she didn't remember changing from her wedding dress, but apparently she must have.
Now Alex knew that it might be a little while before he got any answers to where he was. Although it was better than being on his own in a strange place. "It's nice to meet you too," he smiled. He took a seat next to Amy on the bench he just assumed that he could.
"At least you woke on a bench, I was in the grass," he wasn't sure which was more uncomfortable. He was betting that he took that prize. He would rather have woken up on a bench.
"The grass doesn't sound so bad... I think I got a bit of a cramp," she frowned a bit, reaching up to rub at her neck, and then straightening her back, "I'm not sure how long I was out, but I don't think a bench is good for your back."
At least it wasn't very cold, and she was fine in the shorts she was wearing, it was actually quite nice, almost like a dream.
"Well. Someone ought to come around sometime, yeah?" she said as she got up from the bench, finally stretching her limbs, before she turned around to look at the fountain behind them.
With a smile, she started to pull at her boots, hopping a couple times so as not to fall over. Once she got them off, she smiled and headed over to the fountain.
