I wrote this a while back, just toying with the idea of Maki hooking up with people other than idols. I was inspired by the unplugged performance of the song harukaze thus the title ( because I can't think of any ^^ ) and  this is also the song referred to in the fic.
And I also like to wish a Happy Belated Birthday to rengganis!

Title: Spring breeze

Summary: A recollection of how he met her and fallen for her. I will find you and sing this song for you.
Pardon for any grammatical mistakes. This is from the guy's POV.

Four months ago was the first time I met her. It never crossed my mind that I would meet her in that studio out of all places. She was more beautiful in person and smaller than I imagined. I was taken aback as soon as I saw her walking behind her manager. I noticed the guys having the same reaction too. "I'm Horikita Maki" she said as we shook hands.

Our managers, who (from what I learned that day) are friends, looked as if they were happy to keep the conversation between just the two of them and pretty much leaving just us and her. She was the first to speak up, explaining why she followed her manager, something about sending her home. She mentioned how she has been listening to our music and  likes it very much.

We invited her to sit with us for our practice. I have been performing in front of many people countless times but never had I been as nervous as that moment. She was very attentive. Somehow playing and singing  with her sitting right beside me was nerve wrecking.  Maybe it was because she is such a huge star. Maybe it was just that she was so close I was distracted by her scent. A faint scent of rose, very pleasant. Something I will never forget.

The guys and I played a few songs for her to which she praised us immensely, even saying that she would definitely come to our concerts because according to her we sound more amazing live. She looked so earnest that I could not help but to mirror her radiant smile. At that time I thought that maybe she was just trying to be polite but much later I learned that she really is a fan and thus the true reason she came that day.

Two and a half months ago was the second time I saw her in person again. Since we never exchanged any form of contact details, I never expect us to ever cross path again. She kept true to her words when she came to one of our tour concert in Shibuya. Her manager in tow. Kazuki suggested having dinner together while we met backstage. She seemed excited over the idea and that pleased me for some reason.

The conversation was very much focused on the concert throughout dinner, a topic I was more than happy to talk about; however, I was rather curious to know more about the girl sitting right beside me.
"Just as I thought, you are more amazing performing live Yamamura-san", a soft voice said, enough for me to hear in between the loud chatter around the table. Her words did catch me off guard and caused me to reply with a sheepish smile.

The night ended with me accompanying her back home. 'I'll send you home Horikita-san seing as I'm heading the same way " I blurted out, earning amused look from my bandmates. We usually never call the night off until very late so I can understand the guys' reaction back then but they just kept any thoughts they might have to themselves. Something I was thankful for.

A week after that was our third meeting, a first of our many night rendezvous that started off by walking around the neighbourhood, sometimes we ended up wandering into the city and taking the train home seeing as we were both too tired to go back on foot. The walks were just something we did when we were both free. Day by day I saw her as more of a person-an amazing one-instead of the famous idol Horikita Maki. I would say back then we were friends.

"No, don't look down yet, keep gazing up to the sky", she ordered. Her face hidden behind her camera. I told her we should stop before I end up bumping into more people than I already did. I realized she was really serious when she mentioned how she loves taking photos. She never stopped until she had that perfect shot.
"Someone gave me this as a gift.... someone very important to me" was her answer when I asked her about her camera. A blissful smile on her face as she said it. A look that I will never forget.

About three weeks ago was the day I met that important person she was referring to. I took her out to a small club where another band I knew were playing. We were on our way outside when we ran into 'him'. She seemed to have lost balance amidst the crowd when suddenly a pair of hands landed on her arm steadying her. Those hands belong to a very familiar face. I knew that face through tv, billboards and magazines.

"Tom--Yamamashita-kun" she said. She was rather flustered. I did not fail to notice the flash of hurt in his eyes as we greeted each other and how the same pair of eyes later softened as they landed on her. They talked for a bit and that was when I saw her smile at him. It was the same smile she had when she talked about her camera.

Knowing who her important someone is bothered me for a few days. Later I realized that I wanted to be more than just her friend. We were both so busy that we did not see each other again after the day at the club and only kept in touch through messages. I considered it  to be well timed since it gave me a chance to mull over things.

Yesterday I finally saw her again. I decided to asked her to come to the studio where we first met.

"It's been awhile, hasn't it" she said. I nodded and started to strum on my guitar. I asked her if she ever had anyone sang just for her before. She hesitated. Wrong question. I decided to go ahead and sing before I lose any courage. Even after knowing her all this while I was still nervous, ten times more nervous than I had been during that first meeting.  I started off shakily. Damn it. I have sang these same lyrics so many times that I lost count but the feeling this time was different. I want her to know I meant every word.

Her eyes were searching me as I finished, looking as though she finally realized something.

"Do you think I can be your important person?" I asked. The meaning behind the question was not lost on her. She did not reply immediately, instead  placed her right hand under mine which was still resting on the guitar, and entertwined our fingers. Hard surface replaced by warm soft hands. Both of us looking at our hands.

"You already are", she replied as she shifted her gaze towards me.

I kissed her for the first time and I know I have fallen in love with everything that is her.

Perhaps one day I could be more to her than that other important person is or has been.
