2010

Dec 31, 2009 19:21

Hmm...I don't write much anymore. 2010 coming up, I am interested. I mean, a person really shouldn't wait for a new year to make goals or changes for the better in their life. It should be a constant daily battle for supremacy over the past. In any case...it's tradition, right?

So, looking back...

1. At the start of 2009 I had long black hair. I bleached it, then cut it, then let it grow, then cut it again.
+2 for change, -1 for short hair
2. At the start of 2009 I was teaching myself guitar.  I'm now in lessons and a band.
+1 for self advancement
3. At the start of 2009 I had a girlfriend I was more than happy with.  I'm single now.
-5 for sucking
4. At the start of 2009 I would have a party at my house most weekends.  I haven't had one since summer.
-5 for being anti social
5. At the start of 2009 I was 100% straight edge.  I slipped a bit, but am getting back on track.
-2 for hypocrisy, -2 for willpower, +3 for not killing myself
6. I'm not dead yet.
+1 for convenience
7. I got a new guitar, played a concert, and have another available to my band when we get a few more songs.
+2 for moving up in the world
8. I'm playing music I wrote.  But I'm front man.
+1 for creativity, -1 for wtf?
9. I am not in gym at school anymore, and since I had surgery, stopped working out.  Lost weight.
-3 for being a skinny prick
10. At the start of 2009 I was wearing all black.  I've incorporated a few colors since.
+1 for not being so depressing, +1 for change

So 2009 was a -7.  Lame.

Goals? Resolutions?

1. Have a demo or album for my band out by March 5.
2. Take more pictures.  Aesthetic pictures.  Print pictures out and put them around my room.  Yay pictures.
3. Play Warped Tour.
4. Start having parties again.
5. Get a girlfriend.  Or at least a girl I can write about.  ...Wait, I have one of those.
6. Get a lead in a play.
7. Learn to dance a bit.
8. Learn to solo on guitar.
9. Smile to people on the street.
10. Leave notes for people to find in public to make their day better.
11. Surprise my friends.
12. Grow my hair out again.
13. Sing better.
14. Get all A's.
15. School...just better.  All around.  SAT, AP, tests, grades, everything.
16. Drive.  And don't stop.  Just one day.  Be free.
17. Stop apologizing so much.
18. Start writing my rock opera.
19. Start writing my book.
20. Get a few things published.
21. Start running and working out more.
22. Consume less caffeine.
23. I lost the game. Read more.  Enjoy the learning.
24. Make other people's lives more enjoyable.
25. Live, don't just survive.

It's not an exhaustive list, but it's a good start.  Let's see how much ass 2010 can kick.

[I am not afraid to walk this world alone]
