Yuletide Letter for '16!
Dear Yuletide Writer,
Another year gone and another one coming up! This is my favorite exchange of the year, and I adore writing treats for people just to spread as much joy about as I can. I'm glad you've been assigned to me, and I hope the journey's a fun one for you. I'll give you feedback as soon as I'm able to!

These are just some general likes - I definitely know some of the fandoms I've selected don't fit with these themes, so I've tried to be extra specific with my ODAO in those cases!
* Character studies! Tell me how the character got to this point! How they got PAST that point! The first time they did this thing and if they'd ever do that thing again? What are they like when they're older or younger?
* Quests and adventures: especially when said quest helps the characters figure out something about themselves along the way. I love road trips a lot.
* Romance: I'm a romantic fool, so I love all sorts of silly tropey ship-related things, including baby acquisition fic and road trips. Baby and kidfic is also fun.

F A N D O M: Ash vs Evil Dead
Overview/What I like about the Canon: Ash Williams makes his comeback as a middle-aged drunken stoner who is once more tasked with saving the world from the evil he's unleashed upon it. The series is a hoot, and there's plenty of fun things to play with.
It was hard for me to choose between the characters in the tag set but I managed to pick my absolute favorites. It resulted in me actually not picking Ash himself, but if you want to use him in the background feel free to.
Selected Characters: Amanda, Pablo, Ruby, Kelly.
Prompts:
* Amanda lives AU! She survives the cabin or just doesn't go to it. How do things change for her?
* (Ship Prompt) Amanda/Ruby slash. Ruby teaching Amanda about all of the various parts of herself that Amanda frankly had no idea existed; Amanda being the tie to earthly living that keeps Ruby anchored to the last shred of her humanity. Road Trip fics! Anything from fluff to pure angst or pwp. I love poking at the fact that Ruby isn't entirely fully human. What would it be like to be in a relationship with one? Give me Amanda's POV.
* Pablo, Amanda, and Kelly's childhoods, contrasted with each other. What was Ruby like as a young demoness?
* (Ship prompt) Pablo/Kelly. Maybe they get together during a moment of peace, maybe there's a desperate 'I'm so happy to be alive' hook-up, maybe it's a kiss while dying, but I'd love to see more of this pairing. Something peaceful and quiet
* Amanda saves the day! Maybe she rescues Kelly and Pablo, or Ruby, or even Ash from something huge and terrifying. Or maybe she teams up with Kelly!
* Any sort of AU you can conjure up. Imagine them as astronauts! Or as fake mediums or ghost hunters!
* Pablo working out his crush on Kelly in a healthy way.

F A N D O M: Beetlejuice (1988)
Overview/What I like about the Canon: A ghost with the most, a couple that died and can't let their house go to the moderniste couple who buys it and their depressed daughter all make up this movie, a childhood staple of mine.
I love Maitlands-as-Lydia's-found-family fics, but anything else is good to go. The only thing I really would rather not have is Beej/Lydia fic; the pairing's not my thing.
Selected Characters: Every single one!
Prompts:
* A large-scale adventure where the Maitlands and Lydia have to trust Beej.
* The Maitlands keep an eye on Lydia for a week, even though Lydia insists she's old enough to be on her own, thank you very much. Chaos ensues!
* (Ship Prompt) The Maitlands early in their relationship; pure, gooey fluff.
* Lydia moves away for college; or for a job in another city, and the mini-family has to deal with the anxiety separation causes.
* Does Lydia have to explain the Maitland's presence to a living lover someday?
* Give me worldbuilding! Tell me about the afterlife; excerpt the handbook for the recently deceased, tell me about the other, non-sandwormy doors to other demensions that likely exist down in the Maitland house.
* tell me about Lydia! Give me a typical day in her life post-canon or pre-canon; or give me futurefic.
* Barbara doing something fun, or world-saving would be amazing.

F A N D O M: Galavant
Overview/What I like about the Canon: I haven't loved a show in the past five years more than I loved Galavant. Action! Comedy! Music! Heart! Parody! It's everything that I love in one single show!

Again: picking four characters was very hard for me, but I managed to do it.
Selected Characters: Madalena, Roberta, Vincenzo and Gwynne
Prompts:
* What happens to Madelena after the end of the show? Does she grow stronger in the D'Dew magic? Does she clash against and rebel against the DEL's teachings? Or become a dream protege?
* How does Roberta settle into her station as co-ruler of Richard's kingdom? Is she a fair ruler? Does she miss adventuring wide and far? And does she get to?
* Gwynne and Vincenzo make it to the ripe old age of thirty-five and are pleased as punch about it.

F A N D O M: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Overview/What I like about the Canon: Somehow, this pitch-black sitcom about a bunch of debauched, depraved fools who hang around at a bar managed to worm its way into my heart this year. My favorites are Dee and Charlie, so they're who I've requested this time out; I ship them together but if you don't I've given you some Gen prompts too!
Selected Characters: Charlie Kelly, Dee Reynolds
Prompts:
* That one time Charlie almost had it all. Key word is, of course, 'almost'.
* Dee gets an acting job. It goes as horrible (or as horribly great) as possible.
* (Ship Prompt) Things don't reset after the end of "The Gang Misses the Boat" and everyone is horrified/bemused/confused by how uncomfortable Dee and Charlie are around each other and/or by the fact that they're always all over each other.
* (Ship prompt) Dee figures the best way to snap Charlie out of his Waitress obsession is to throw herself at Charlie. He forgets she looks like a bird. It goes horribly, horribly right.
* Charlie (illegally but who's counting) gets a membership to the world's largest cheese warehouse. He enlists Dee to help him smuggle as much of the stuff out before it expires.
* Dee and Charlie try everything they can think of to get rid of their stage fright and get onstage during an open mike night. Yes, everything.
* Charlie pops up as an assistant at Dee's drama class back when she was substitute teaching in season 7. Not that she asked for his assistance.

F A N D O M: Rhinestone (1984)
Overview/What I like about the Canon: I have a weird love of this notorious box office bomb of a flick. When you get down to it, though, its long reputation makes it out to be a much bigger disaster than it actually is. It's actually a fun, punchy little movie about a nightclub singer (Jake Farris, played by Dolly Parton) who bets everything from the contract she has with a New York Nightclub to her body that she can turn the next guy who happens to appear in front of herself and her boss, Freddie Ugo, into a star.
The guy happens to be loud-mouthed cab driver Nick Martinelli. Jake's never seen a problem she couldn't handle, though, and she takes the task and Nick by the horns, aiming to put him onstage at the club's talent show.
My fondness for this movie is ever-lasting, so anything you can come up with I'd just adore!

* Jake meets Nick's family, or Nick and Jake go back to Tennessee to visit Jake's father now that they're a couple.

Overview/What I like about the Canon: I think this one's infamous enough that I don't need to give you a recap of it, but I'm asking for fic about my favorite character - Ackmena, s played by Bea Arthur. A badass bartender who cleans out the entire Mos Eisley Cantina with just a song. Her extended wookiepedia bio is freaking amazing (she becomes a liberator of slaves as part of the Alliance!). So yes: I love this character and I'd love to read more about her!
