(no subject)
so, summer is coming to a close. "oh well!" ... no, but
seriously... summer has had good things about it. so i decided to
sit down and think about the things that have made me smile this
summer. so starting at the begining of the summer... things that
made me smile:
1. saratoga springs: is incredibly cute and nice and i love it.
2. this note, which i received from helayna in the mail:
3. going to canada for meghan's wedding, and getting to see everyone in a happy light.
4. this picture of meghan at her wedding:
because she looks beautiful and she looks like meghan.
5. my cousin ryan's son, preston (does that make him my second
cousin, or what?) because he is the most adorable child i've ever seen
in my life. example:
also, he makes me smile because i heard the following conversation occur between he and my cousin (his mother), vanessa:
preston: you're a stupid head!
vanessa looks at him thoughtfully. as she is a mother, i greatly
anticipated her yelling at him and telling him not to call people
stupid heads.
instead,
vanessa: no, you're a stupid head!
6. the look on my dad's face in this picture:
7. this picture of henry:
8. henry's graduation - because even though it made me sad, it
made me happy at the same time... also, he and his best friends were
dressed up and looked adorable (also, the one on the right looks like
screech).
9. the suspicious look on grandma's face in this picture:
(doesn't she look like she's up to something?)
10. when garret came to visit me in june, we went on a picnic
with tracy and matt in a park. first of all, it was a picnic in a
park and that's just very nice. second of all, this particular
park contains a playground that looks exactly like our [late] castle
ridge park.
11. upon leaving that picnic, garret and i spotted this sign:
which is funny.
12. garret finally becoming friends with allie (well, moreso allie finally becoming friends with garret)
13. seeing the sisterhood of the traveling pants.
14. steph dziuba and i going to the crossing and taking a million pictures that looked exacly like this one:
15. going to howe caverns with camp.
16. the fishman.
17. the occasional days when camp seemed to be quite fun and worth it.
18. meeting elyse, mike, and dave.
19. getting to see greg danis and jimmy guba on a daily basis.
20. plouf.
21. henry is taller than my mom.
22. the ridiculousness of this picture:

24. how i randomly started enjoying going to the town of colonie pool twice a week.
25. the fact that there was only one rainy day the whole summer.
26. garret and i in front of a huge duck on the way to the hamptons.
(and yes, it was all it was quacked up to be)

28. going on a duck tour and relentlessly saying "it's not all it's quacked up to be".

who can make any bad camp day seem alright, because she's always happy and always fun.

33. white water rafting with camp.
34. meeting tara and randie in the city and going to an irish pub
that we didn't belong in and therefore ordering spaghetti.
at an irish pub. spaghetti. ugh.
35. visiting garret at purchase over a three day weekend and just having fun the entire time.
36. being sick the next time i came to visit. the sick part
didn't make me smile but the fact that he took care of me and made me
feel completely safe made me smile a lot.
37. monique visiting during sick weekend.
38. seeing helayna with monique and crying because i was so happy
to see her. also, parking too far away from her house and her
yelling at me from all the way down the sidewalk "I LIVE DOWN HERE!"
39. this picture that some campers drew of me, which keeps my self-esteem down, as it makes me seem very... overpowering?
