random thoughts for you on this lovely monday morning:
- leather coat guy: there is a character that insists on sitting next to me in understanding israel who i call "leather coat guy". now, i sit next to the wall, which i enjoy immensly. however, i enjoyed it more before leather coat guy decided he was going to not only sit right next to me, but consistently invade my space (which brings up memories of mrs. wing's music room rules - one of which was "don't be a space invader"). not only does he move his desk so that it's practically on top of mine, but his arm frequently hits me... it makes me want to crawl up the wall (or disappear, whichever). also, you may have noticed that his name is "leather coat guy". this is because he has a brown leather coat that he seems to be entirely in love with. i think it's new, because it has a very strong leather scent - and it makes that horrible leathery sound every time it moves. i like leather, but i don't like the leathery sound that it makes. now, because he for some reason thinks it's a good idea to wear this leather coat all the time (throughout class - doesn't he get overheated?) his stupid leather coat makes that stupid leather coat sound the entire class! every time he goes to write! ... leather coat guy. ridiculous.
- pope sweatshirts: the other night i was at the white plains diner and i saw a man wearing a turquoise sweatshirt (not hooded) with a big image of the pope on it, and red writing that said something about the pope (i couldn't read what because i was trying not to stare...though i have a feeling that i had an astounded look on my face). the image of the pope appeared to be iron-on, which led me to believe that the man had actually made the pope sweatshirt himself. now, here's what i'm wondering: is this an all-purpose artical of clothing for this man? i mean, when he's just running to the store to pick up some eggs and milk on a random thursday evening, would he throw on his pope sweatshirt? or, did he make the pope sweatshirt in anticipation of important papal events such as the death of the pope (which occured on the day of the night i saw him)? other than the pope's death, and maybe his birthday... i can't really think of too many occasions on which someone could wear their specially-made pope apparel. also, why turqoise? if you're going to make a sweatshirt of the pope - why not at least make it an acceptable color? then again, why are you wearing a sweatshirt with the pope on it in the first place?
- the man at the car wash: when i went to the car wash to get the pie cleaned off my car this weekend (the preceeding startofasentence might be #9 on the list of strange ways to start a thought)... the carwash man came up to the car to ya know, talk about the car wash...and upon seeing the pie he promptly said "oh hell no." ... in other words, will smith works at the white plains car wash.
- today is randie's birthday!
- yesterday was tommy's birthday!
- tomorow is amanda's birthday!
- lakes: the downpours this weekend created lakes on campus. i'm excited, because now if i decide to buy a toy boat - i'll have somewhere to sail it.
- medium coffee: every day i get a small coffee. i always think about getting a medium, and at the last second i say "i'll have a small coffee" because i'm a chicken, and chickens aren't spontaneous enough. but today, i broke free of my chicken ways, and the tiredness in me forced me to say "i'll have a medium coffee". to quote titanic, "it was the most..erotic experience of my life".
- i wonder when we'll stop quoting titanic? titanic quotation is a disease, i think. it seems to have infected all of us - and i plan on writing a strongly worded letter to the white star line about all of this.
