FANFICTION - ITSUKA Chapter 1

As I made my way through the crowded arena only one thing was going through my head. I had to see for myself. I had to see what was so special about him. I glanced at my ticket once more before heading to the assigned seat printed on it.
The concert started on time, and true to Arashi fashion, the opening was a blast. The five guys came flying from different parts of the arena, trying to get close to the fans as much as possible. My eyes focused on a single person. I watched him as he flew past where I was standing. Maybe it was just my imagination but for a moment, our eyes seemed to have met.
As the concert progressed, so is the anxiety that was building up inside me. I watched with apprehension as each member sang their solo. As usual it started with Aiba singing one of his “happy” songs followed by Sho with his “rap”. Jun did something different this time, Instead of dancing on stage or being attached to a harness while swinging on air, he went down to the audience and sang his song amidst the screaming fans. However, the biggest shock of all the solos or shall I say the entire concert was Ohno’s.
The lights dimmed as the intro to Ohno’s solo began. The spotlight then began to focus on the center of the stage. A shadow appeared. Everyone screamed, but as soon as the person on the stage turned around, everyone fell silent. The person standing on stage wasn’t Ohno. It was a little boy around 5 or 6. The little boy danced with precision as he sang the lyrics of the song. It was as if watching a miniature Ohno. Everyone in the arena seemed to have stopped breathing as the little boy continued to sing. As the song was nearing its last chorus, another shadow appeared on stage. As the spotlight focused on the other shadow, the entire arena screamed. Ohno was standing on the other end of the stage, both he and the little boy danced and sang the last chorus with exactness.
“Minna-san konbanwa” the little boy greeted the audience as both he and Ohno walked toward the center stage. It was also at that moment when the four other guys emerged from the sides and walked towards where Ohno and the little boy were.
“Sugoi!!!” Aiba exclaimed.
“We weren’t expecting that, but it was superb.” Jun commented.
“Minna-san, we know you are all wondering who this little boy is. Before the start of this tour, it was announced that we are to reveal something very important to all of you. We do not know what everyone’s reaction is going to be and what the outcome is but we, Arashi and the entire Jimusho think, no, believe that this should be done at this time. It’s better that you, the fans hear it from us rather than read about it in a tabloid.” Sho began to explain.
“Minna-san, tonight, we formally introduce to you, Shinichi…” Nino said as he led the little boy in the front.
“Konbanwa. Hajimimasshite. Ohno Shinichi desu.” The little boy said as he bowed.
The entire arena gasped in unison as they heard the little boy’s name.
“Minna, kore wa boku no musuko.” Ohno announced.
Ohno Shinichi. I thought. So one of them has a kid already.
What the little boy did next came as a shock not only to the audience but to the five guys as well.
The little boy got down on his knees and bowed as low as he can.
“Gomenasai. Hontou ni.”
“Shin…” Ohno said as he walked towards the boy.
“Minna-san gomenasai. Sorry if my Papa did not say anything about me for such a long time. They have their reasons. But right now, we really need everybody’s understanding.” The little boy continue. Listening to him apologize would make one think if he really is indeed 6 years old. He was talking like an adult.
“Shin… it’s not your fault.” Nino said as he tried to help the little boy up.
As I watched him do that, I could not deny that I felt a pang of jealousy for the concern that he was showing the little boy.
The little boy continued to apologize. I was not concentrating much on what he was saying I was rather focused on the guy right beside him. He was trying to console the little boy who was near tears as he was begging the fans for something. All I remembered after that was the fans clapping, cheering and screaming the little boy’s name.
The five guys together with the little boy bowed one last time before disappearing back stage.
The stage’s lights dimmed once more and a slow strumming of a guitar filled the arena. The melody was so familiar. However, this wasn’t the way it used to be played. As far as I can remember it was accompanied by a piano not a guitar. As the lights began to brighten, my heart began to beat faster.
There he was standing in the middle of the stage. Strumming his guitar while singing the song that I both love and hate at the same time. I started at him intently and silently said…
“I hate you... I’ll make you pay for everything. I’ll make sure you’ll feel all of my pains. I hate you with every bone in my body. I hate you… Ninomiya Kazunari.”
