Vacation is full of fail.

Vacation is full of fail.

First of all, we're not staying on St. George Island this year. To save money (like 2k), we rented a house at Cape San Blas instead. I was told that it was going to be like a less crowded St. George. Wrong.

First of all, at St. George, when you rent a house, the beach in front of your boardwalk that goes from your house to the beach is considered your beach. People don't come from the non-becah front houses and camp out on your beach at 6am. On St. George Island, there is the private beach, and the public beach. If you didn't spring for the becah front houses, don't camp out directly in front of the beach front houses. It's called courtesy, folks.
We paid twice as much for a beach front house. ANGRY.

Also, the rental company we used this year fails. A lots. The house was advertised to have high speed internet. I guess we assumed it was wi-fi capable, since even McDonald's has freakin' wi-fi...join the year 2008 people. Well, not only is it not wi-fied, the freakin' internet doesn't even work. The modem connects to the internet (or thinks it does), but it won't connect to the internet. Apparently, the computer at the house and every laptop we brought thinks a network cable is unplugged. So I called the rental company, because Levi is "working from home" this week so we don't use his vacation time. In order to "work from home", he needs the internet. Which it was advertised that we'd have. The lady was full of fail. She tried to give me some "we have an area outage" answer, but I knew that was wrong because Uncle David's house (within walking distance) has internet access. I tried to tell her that the modem was connecting, and that it wasn't an outage. She tried to convince me there was still an outage. RAGE!!

There's only one loveseat in the living room of a six bedroom house. There are eight remotes, and none of them work the cable box. The pool was filthy when we arrived. I want to punch them in the face and get Grandma's five grand back.

Oh. And on St. George, the sun rises over the Gulf of Mexico. At Cape San Blas, the sun rises over other houses. Doesn't make for as pretty a picture.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I really do enjoy spending time with Levi's wonderful family, and we couldn't afford to stay at even this terrible house on our own. I just hate that this house cost so much, and even the basic things aren't covered. I HATE HATE HATE it when people are inconsiderate. It would have been considerate for the rental company to be more helpful. They're real helpful when they're taking your credit card number...not so much when you actually need something. I guess I just think that if I am able to provide good customer service at my job (you know, when I have one), others ought to be able to do the same. It's not rocket science. Just don't be a douche nozzle.

Anyway, the first night I got to spend a good while talking with my Father in law. He's so freakin' awesome. I heart him. Levi went fishing with Daddy on the boat on Monday, and failed at sunscreen. The back of both of his upper arms (the backs of his elbows, really) are totally sunburned. So is his neck where his shirt collar lays. And the back of one calf. And one ankle. What a freakin' weirdo. I always berate Levi when he does something dumb, because he's so smart that it hardly ever happens. And he doesn't listen to me, anyway. =D

Today is gonna be rainy. We'll probably just chill out at the house and play Lego Star Wars. It's our love game.

Hopefully the internet will get fixed today!!

family, vacation, fail, levi being semi-retarded ;)
