It's the Year of the Seahorse!

I had an amusing 'argument' with my mother a few days ago.  We have a rabbit figurine that a friend sent us last year because it was the year of the Rabbit. I noticed it when my mother and I were tidying away Christmas decorations and the following conversation ensued ( Read more... )

Hi rirakuma.

Well, I wanted to send you this message a few months ago... but, I'm only sending it now.
I want to ask you a question. Do you make money for translating stuff or you just do it for fun/passion?

The thing is... I need someone with good Japanese language skills (like you) to translate some stuff once in a while.

I was thinking about sending you money but at the same time it's odd, because the stuff I ask are always minor or basic(?) things like... titles, stuff from a video game menu, these kind of things. Never long texts.

I know that when you help people in that community (or me in this case), you wanted nothing in return, but well, at the same time it's weird (at least for me) asking someone (more personally) a favor and then giving nothing in return... :´)

What do you think? Do you mind if I ask you once in a while for some short translations? Note that the stuff I ask will be always minor things (as I said before), never long or annoying stuff, and of course, I will not always "bother" you (only once or twice a month :D)

What is more fair in this case? Well, once in a while I order stuff from yesasia (j-rock stuff essentially, but my last order was k-pop stuff to a friend of mine), maybe next time I order stuff I can order something for you too? a proof of gratitude, something like it.

Tell me what you think about this!

P.S. Do you have/use Youtube? If yes, please send me the link, I would like to add you as a friend in there. And btw, my English is not the best. :)

I like helping out in the communities because there's no obligation to do anything. You help out if you feel like it or if something's interesting. I'm not really looking to commit to anything particularly, sorry!

Well, I understand. but lol, it was not a "commitment" at all...!!!

It's just that you helped me for the.. hmm, second time? and I'm grateful. ^_^

Right now I'm trying to identify some video game music tracks in Japanese, and also need some help with 3 or 4 things from a menu. Wanna help again? :')

The thing is, I already made a post yesterday in the community and I don't want to make another post within few days. Kinda feel like a "leecher" lol which I'm not.
