Summary: Another first kiss scenario. Based off
this song.
“What’s the use in marigolds?
These flowers are for you.
All the lights go after burn; the sky, it splits in two.
I kiss her on her teeth.
I kiss her on her teeth, hmm.”
She could get used to this.
The hair sliding through her fingers feels thick and heavy, and Olivia curls it slowly around in her grasp. She’s murmuring softly to Natalia, watching the way tanned cheeks deepen in color when she taps a small yellow marigold gently against a crinkled nose.
She knows that Natalia doesn’t like marigolds (she thinks they look more like colorful weeds than flowers), but still plants them in her garden anyway for home remedies and cooking. It’s practical, and prepared, and completely Natalia.
The flower lingers, tickling soft skin, and Olivia grins when a soft chuckle rumbles from Natalia’s throat. Even through the blush, fingers are reaching up and wrapping themselves around Olivia’s hips, giving her no choice but to move closer.
She’s leaning forward on impulse, and all she sees is Natalia’s smile. Her lips brush against Natalia’s teeth and they stand there, frozen while green and brown make contact. The fingers on Olivia tighten in that instant and they’re moving again. Natalia’s lips are closing around Olivia’s in the same moment her eyes drift closed.
The flower rests on the ground, forgotten, while Olivia’s hand can’t seem to press deeply enough into the dip of Natalia’s lower back. She can’t get close enough. Her lips can’t devour that perfect bow shaped mouth quickly enough. It’s just not enough, and yet it’s all she can bear without her knees buckling beneath her.
This is it.
And Olivia quickly realizes that it’s more than enough.
