Instead of doing a long-winded recap (too much!!) of the book, this is just going to be a sort of pros and cons list.
Things I Loved
- Dudley caring about where Harry was going.
- Hedwig being the first casualty. So sudden and shocking.
- Krum. You freakin' cutie, you.
- Auntie Muriel. She may be a bitch, but she is full of gossip.
- The turn around of Kreacher. His wearing the fake locket.
- The Ministry infiltration.
- Harry and Hermione's trip to Godric's Hollow. His breakdown was a long time coming.
- Luna's bedroom! "Friends."
- Potterwatch.
- The torture of Hermione. See below.
- The cruelty of the death eaters. She went all out, and I'm glad about it. I was worried it was all bark and no bite.
- Dobby's death. Harry's determination, and learning to close off his mind because of it.
- Aberforth.
- Neville leading the rebellion. Oh, Neville, I love you so.
- Snape actually flying away in a batlike shape. Haha.
- McGonagall, you lovable woman.
- The death of Fred, Remus, and Tonks. You honestly have to lose some major characters.
- The death of Severus Snape. Extremelly sudden and shocking, but perfect.
- Snape's memories. So interesting, so sad...
- "I open at the close. I am about to die."
Things I Hated
- Ron. He has always been my least favorite character.
- Lupin bugged me in this one until the end.
- After 6 books, Harry's friends tell him he's wrong and don't believe him. Especially when he's right.
- Chapter 35 - Epilogue.
- One big Weasley family. *vomit*
- That purely fanfic epilogue. I've read better fanfic endings, so Rowling dropped the ball on that one.
And there we go. That's my brief list of what I enjoyed, and what I hated. Overall, I really liked it.
