I am really confused...83%, or something like that, of Americans claim to be Christian.  Yet Obama just won the election, I am sorry but if u are Christian you would not vote for Obama, he is for every thing that the bible says is wrong.  You just can not support Obama and be Christian.  Dont get me wrong, I am not really for McCain either (doesn't ( Read more... )

There is a big difference between being a "christian" and being a Christian. Many say they are but do not live a life pleasing to God. I totally agree that true believers should not vote for Obama because of his stance on the MORAL issues ...

I always say I'm a Christian first, anything else second. I will be the first to admit that I am not aware of all the issues in this election, but for me the issues that matter most are the moral issues.

And by the way .. since spending time on the Internet over the years I've come to realize that there are many 'christians' who are gay and think it's okay to be that way and live that lifestyle. My eyes have really been open! You certainly won't find that in Trinidad .. at least not yet!

That is exactly what I was saying. You can't support the bible, and then turn around and vote for someone who wants to change everything in this country to be against the bible. There are so may things about him that I just don't trust. He is our new president and so I will respect that and just know that it is still in God's hands.

What is Trinidads Government like?

Trinidad Government = "Pack of Liars" .. LOL

We don't vote for a president, we vote for a prime minister .. we have the British system of government, having formerly been a british colony.

We are definitely not as liberal as the USA! Abortion is illegal, but I understand there is a group trying to get it legalized (and another that's going to try to stop it), gay marriage is a no-no, I think it's even illegal to practice homosexuality (but of course people do it anyway). We've recently passed an Equal Opportunity bill, which I guess means we can't discriminate against anyone .. but I really am not sure of the details.

I do not get involved in politics, just live with what's happening around us. (Yes, I vote.)

I agree with you there. Obama is dangerous for this country's morality. And God tends to destroy countrys that get too currupt. Or more likely lets them face the natural consceqences. We really don't want God to remove his influence from our country!

So did you have the baby?

God occasionally gives us what we ask for, whether it is what is best for us or not to draw us closer to him. I totally agree with you :)

I am being induced tomorrow (fri) morning, I will make an update post :)

I am deleting you from my friends list. You need to double check what it is to be Christ-like and refrain from spreading ignorance.

You weren't even on my FL to begin with...???

This is MY journal and I am just as entitled to MY OPINION as you are. Stating my opinion is not 'spreading' anything, if you dont like it, don't read it.

I do have to say that I totally disagree with you. I don't see how you can say that someone who voted for Obama is not a Christian or that is you are a Christian that you would not have voted for him. You made your point with the moral issues and the bible. Can you honestly say you have never done anything that the bible says is morally wrong?? So doesn't that not make you a Christian then? No. I consider myself to be democrat for the most part, but there are something that I don't agree with that democrats do suppose, like abortion.

I did not say that I have never done anything wrong, you know that the best. But SUPPORTING those things is a whole different issue.

First off, I like you...but who do you think you are? Where do you get off saying someone else isn't a "real" Christian? It is not your place to say. Give to back to God, it's really His anyways. We all live in glass houses, so we shouldn't throw stones. And this IS coming from a Republican.

God is a forgiving God. I am 100% pro-life hands down...but does that mean I should classify anyone who has had an abortion as a "non-Christian"? Who am I to say?? (and judge for that matter) my job here on earth is to LOVE and show compassion. God and ONLY God Himself has the right to pass that kind of judgment. I can admit I am in no way a master of this. I pass judgment regularly....its a matter of recognizing and correcting.

anyways, that's my ramble. I wish you the best!

I am by no means saying I am perfect or that I dont make mistakes. Nor am I saying that I am not going to respect Obama as president. I just dont understand how a person can call themself a Christian and then go and support everything that isn't. Making mistakes and 'supporting' non-biblical things are two different things.
