Well, the meeting I called went off as planned, though with the added 'bonus' of Spike's attendance. However for once I was grateful of his presence and as much as I loathe to say it, we found ourselves seeing almost eye to eye.
I presented my fears about Richard Wilkin's sudden reappearance and my own forebodings that his 'miraculous recovery' would come to no good, putting forward my plan for a pre-emptive strike before he had an opportunity to once again gain a foothold in the town. My memory is long and I remember that we prevaricated last time, giving him time only to become invulnerable to harm. This time it was my submission that no such opportunity should be given. wilkins has proved himself in the past to be evil and a leopard doesn't change its spots.
Buffy was the most vocal of those disagreeing with me. She championed a cause which called for a much more cautious approach, arguing that Wilkins had not shown any indication of evil intent since his return. For a time I was grateful for the support of Spike and to a certain extent Riley (once he knew the threat we had faced. Unsurprisingly, once he found out that Wilkins had turned into a giant snake demon and tried to eat his girlfriend, he was all for an immediate and out and out assault), however Buffy won out in the end and we came to a compromise of sorts.
We are to commence investigation into Wilkin's affairs. Riley said something about using his connections to see what he could dig up and I believe Buffy is to see if she can break into his apartment. As for myself, I feel that I am once again relegated to 'watch and wait', as much as that galls me right now.
