I'm not really sure. I don't know how much interaction Lily would have with a 5th year Puff, but I was thinking that they could be friends.

Lily's generally a friendly girl, not too much angst with other Hogwarts students outside of Snape and other Slytherins who call her Mudblood... She could tutor Abby in Potions or Charms if you wanted a reason for interaction, or Slug Club? Otherwise I'm pretty sure she wouldn't see 5th years in other Houses especially because of OWL vs. NEWT level courses.

What is Slug Club?

Remember in HBP how Slughorn liked to have meetings with students? He brings in Sanguini, and Gwenog Jones, the Quidditch player, etc, likes to brag about how much he helped them get their careers. He invited Ginny in because of her bat bogey hex, and he mentions to Harry that his mum used to be in Slug Club because of how clever she is with Potions.

Anyway, tutoring works b/c Lily is a Prefect with Remus.
