It's a lot easier to not be let down if you don't expect anything to begin with.
That isn't supposed to sound neither bitter nor pessimistic, but more of the opposite.
That's the attitude I'm going to try and have entering summer. I'll be starting new classes at a new school, going to try and find a new job, going to a state I've never been to, having no plans so far for the summer, really, besides the whole turning 20 which... isn't a plan, it's kind of enevitable , and I'm dating someone who isn't new (in the sense that I already knew them), but going into it with a different mindset. Whatever happens, happens. And whether it's bad or good, I'm bound to learn something from it at the very least.
So far, the method's working. But the thing is, the further you get into it with not expecting something, it's hard to stay in that state of mind because you get used to what you have at that moment.
