Update time I suppose. Still trying to get back into the swing of things. It's still really really wierd and things just hit me at the oddest times. It's strange remembering plans you make for "tomorrow" only to realize that tomorrow isn't ever going to come. Not something that's easy to get a hold on, but in the end I have zero choice in the matter.
To add on top of it all it became official yesterday, we now have to find a new establishment to reside in. I had suspected as much considering the debt my mom was in (regardless if we were willed the house, the loan is in her name). For some legal reason even though the loan is in my mom's name and my sister is just the executor, she is unable to purchase the house from my mom's estate.
It makes little sense, but there are few things like that the do. So this weekend we are going to go house hunting. We haven't decided weather we want to purchase a previously owned house or have another built from the ground up. We do know we want LAND that isn't on a freaking hill this time. But we'll see, I'm not concerned about finding a place, since the housing market as a whole is in the shitter, it's pretty easy to find a house since everyone is just bailing from theirs.
Though I'm not overly concerned about getting a new house (but don't get me wrong, I am bummed about losing the current place, but it really is of no fault of our own), I just HATE moving all my shit. I LOATHE moving stuff in and out of a place. Even though half my crap is still packed (I don't have nearly the space for my collectibles that I need, they are tucked safely away in rubbermaid containers in our mini barn), there is a shitload still hanging out in my room. Not to mention my DVD and games collection has grown exponentially in six years (funny how those things grow when you can actually afford them *g*).
Vacation can't get here soon enough where I can tell real life to go take a flying fuck for two weeks. Oh well, at least I have a three day weekend to keep me sane till that point.
On a lighter note, I had an interesting run in with a "rodent" the other night walking to my car from work. I say interesting because I never settled on what type of rodent the creature was. Yes I did keep my distance, but I spent the whole walk with one eye on the thing and my mind kept trying to decide if it was the smallest oppossum I'd ever seen (cause believe me, where I live, seeing them and raccoon's is damn near a nightly thing, deer is monthly...which at 1 in the morning standing beside the road is definitely enough to wake you the hell up...trust me) or if it was the largest rat I'd ever seen. Body wise it wasn't fat enough to be a oppossum, and it certainly didn't lumber along in any way shape or form. But it was LONG like a oppossum, certainly as long as my forearm (possible longer since my guess is coming from no less than 15 feet away from the thing).
Either way, mighty disturbing to see the thing at night, and it definitely put me off eating from the Rathskellar anytime soon since the oppossrat ran down that restaurants alley.
Fortunately I know of no asian food places that direction or I'd be really worried about "authenticity" *g*. Though that does remind me of the China Buffet parked directly beside a pet hospital. And no I didn't eat there *g*.
