Torchwood... Season 1 DVD Commentaries
Since I just got the Season 1 DVD,'s I thought I'd trancribe some of the commentaries. They will only deal with Jack or Ianto -their relationship. Or if something funny happened during filming. So without further ado...
I'm gonna start with the most talked about scene in Season 1 - the Stopwatch Scene in They Keep Killing Suzie. The commentary is from the director (whose name I forgot to write down) a producer? named Brian? and writer Chris Chibnall.)
Brian: What direction did you give the actors?
Director: I didn't give them any direction at all actually. I think they knew exactly what to do, so I'll pass this off to Chris to explain.
CC: I'm not gonna talk about this scene. There's been enough talk about this scene everywhere in the world and I'm not gonna offer any answers because we've got plenty of series left. (Chris is chuckling as he says this.) What I love about this scene is it wrongfoots you and we perversely love doing that in Torchwood. When you think you've got a handle on everything, we wrongfoot everything, but more importantly, actually, you need a little bit of lightness at the end of the episode.
