we just got this new table saw installed at the shop where i work, and it is amazing. there is a computer built into it that sends an electric current through the blade that measures the cutting resistance. if it detects the slightest difference, like if you accidently run your finger through, it throws an aluminum block into the blade a retracts the blade down in like 5 milliseconds. so there is no risk of cutting your finger off, you might just need a bandaid.
