I think this will be a good thing for me becasue I need to have a little challenge in my life. It will not be easy but it will be fun. They say that you have to prepare yourself 8 weeks ahead of time. I have 7 weeks so I am a little behind. I am not complaining because I am basically being forced into working out which I need. By the time i do this thing i will be in shape and will have lost a few pounds. They also said that I will lose more wieght when i go on the expedition. i am really scared to to this tho becasue is way out of my comfort zone. I mean I go hiking and work out every now and then, but rafting, backbacking with a 50lb bag, etc I have never done. I am just scared because I am out of shape. I will be preparing myself but it will be hard that means no drinking, no smoking of the pot or tabacco variety, and keeping up with my work out schdule. Looks like i will be at the gym 6 days a week for the next 7 weeks. I don't mind the gym here but in Ketchum it will suck a litte. High Altitue Fitnes will not be the same with out Graham.lol. That place is a litle intimadating and I am not a big fan of the people that work there:::::: Cough cough Keith. I will also miss Adam on this thing:( But it does not matter that much since I will be with him a month before and he will be gone for like the 7 days I am gone. I just hope it wont change things, sometimes that can happen with people. I guess we are already doing long distance so it will not matter much. PS i am a little high right now so I am being a little irrational. Anywho this is what the website says I will be doing......

.......Our 15-day course is run in the spirit of early explorations - the river is your access to isolated canyons and fascinating geological and archeological sites. And, like every Outward Bound course, you fully participate in all aspects of a remote wilderness experience including rigging and paddling the boats, backpacking, climbing, navigating, setting up and breaking down camp, cooking and even captaining through the rapids. Expert instruction is provided by our staff. They are not just guides but highly qualified Outward Bound instructors, who share with you their knowledge from the basics to the fine points. You learn how to live a desert and river lifestyle, travel through deep canyons, hike to see points of interest and undertake substantial off-river backpacking journeys that take you above the canyon rims.

In the next phase, a substantial amount of backpacking takes you over a considerable distance, challenging your physical capabilities as well as giving you a chance to learn desert camping, navigation and route finding techniques. You backpack through the sandstone and slick rock terrain and stop along the way to explore ruins and interesting geology. Your instructors teach you the history of the ancient inhabitants and the geological formations. This section of the course is a challenge quite different from your time on the river - your strength, endurance and effort are put to the test as you explore a beautiful Southwestern landscape on foot. Successful completion of your course demands mastery of skills, trust, fitness, confidence, tenacity, leadership, initiative and compassion. The promotion of these qualities, and the disc......

Starting tomorrow I am going to prepare myself for this journey. Wish me luck.......I am super nervous. I am seriously going to be that outkast kid.lol. I am basically doing this to be at peace with my father. HE said after this trip I get to decided what I want to do with my life..........like transfer schools and maybe take time off to travel. Yea, he pretty much just wants me to find myself.
