Dance all night...

The Electric Factory's generous floor space filled tight from the stage to the soundboard, Caleb's raspy vocals surrounded by red lights during My Party, the high energy Philadelphia crowd jumping up and down to California Waiting... Kings of Leon started off the first half of the set with cheers, hand clapping and crowd surfing.

Somewhere between 9:15 and 9:30pm, Kings of Leon took the stage, opening with Crawl. The crowd turned on completely to the opening chords of California Waiting. The loud cheering and jumping was slowed down and turned into wide eyes and awe when the band played Closer. I"m still so impressed with this song, and whatever Matt does with his guitar to make those siren like sounds is incredible.

After Revelry, the spotlight was shone on Caleb. Singing the first verses of Milk, my favorite song from Aha, with flashes being fired from the balcony the crowds energy quickly rose with hand clapping by the end of the song. It continued to Four Kicks, aggressive and loud and into McFearless with Matt all smiles and shredding.

The success of Use Somebody, and the new album, stood out loud and clear. From the very first notes, it received the loudest fan response with nearly everyone in the venue singing along. Matt, and Jared stepped up to their microphones, singing "Ooo Ooo Ooo" seemed to make everyone go insane. Perhaps the most energetic moment next to Nathan's drumming the entire night with his drum sticks breaking and flying into the air the entire more than once.

It must have been special for the band to hear that kind of response to the new tunes, with Cold Desert in particularly stunning fans. Caleb thanked the Philly crowd multiple times throughout the night, and the Whigs and We are Scientists saying that is was a "...great thing to be on the road and have people you can relate to."

After the encore break, the floor was packed even tighter as Nathan first stepped back on the stage followed by the rest of the band. Charmer was one of my favorite moments, being from NYC it was funny to hear Caleb sing 'in Pennsylvania, OH NO' followed by his high shrills.

The set ended at 11 PM with Black Thumbnail. And although most wished they could 'dance all night' to Kings of Leon, the crowded exited the Electric Factory running into the pouring rain.
