this poem(?) just came to me in an off-period at school the other day so i wrote it down. i don't know whether i want to title it "the intricate nature of time and space" or "the curious nature of time and space". not that it matters much. anyway, here it is:
On a crisp spring morning
Over steaming cups of coffee
Two worlds met
As our eyes danced in sunlight;
And in the gasps of breath
Between animated laughter
There were seconds between us
On a summer afternoon
Over an old telephone
Familiar voices entwined
In a long-distance call;
And in the pauses
Over the crackling of the line
There were days between us
On a chilly autumn evening
On a sheet of plain white paper
Sentences gave new life
To old memories;
And in the spaces
Between words
There were years between us
On a stormy winters night
In a weather-beaten car
The dark and winding road
Seemed longer than before;
And as the deafening hum of the engine
Drowned out all other sound
I stopped the car
And lost count
