Reno went back after the explosions to check on the damage. Assume he left Rufus (with Veld?) in the forest where it's "safe". And between getting stabbed by Sephiroth in the last event, running around for Turk duties, and then bombs ... he's hurting and probably bleeding through the stitches he got from Hojo. And he's extra paranoid/stressed out because of this red zone business.
But HE'S SUCKING IT UP because he's an effin' Turk.
