Raise yr Voice!

I am going to be dedicating a section of my upcoming zine to the topic of confidence in women, grrrls, and teens. Confidence as it pertains to body image, mentality, talents, and beliefs is often something that young grrrls, teens, and even women struggle with. Sometimes it can be hard to identify the good things in ourselves...we spend so much time catering to the needs of others (our spouse, children, friends, co-workers) that we often forget to love ourselves and tend to our own garden. Loving ourselves should come first and should come naturally. With television, film, and the internet constantly shoving young, beautiful, thin, and rich women/grrrls down our throats it becomes easy for us to get caught up in the race.... trying to obtain something that is not within our grasps...after all the beautiful women/grrrls on television, film, and the internet are graced with money, make up artists, personal trainers, and other experts that help make them look and feel amazing! This issue will also focus on the importance of believing in yrself...yr talents...yr strengths...and the things that matter most to you. Don't be afraid to voice yr thoughts and opinions...share them with the world...if you have an idea that may improve something - say it... so often we swollow our words because we fear what others will think, we lack the confidence within ourselves to speak up....we fear standing out and being 'different'...but why?  Probably because most of us have been taught to keep our thoughts to ourselves...to not say anything unless it is something nice...and to be mindful of others...but that does not mean that our voices should be silent. How else will the world change or evolve if the thoughts and ideas are not voiced? All in all this is going to be a very powerful issue of Little Grrrl Lost & Found.... if you would like to share any stories or contribute any writings surrounding these topic please send them my way for review and consideration.
