The White House confirmed Thursday that President Bush will visit West Virginia on the Fourth of July.

The president is scheduled to speak at historic Woodburn Circle on West Virginia University's downtown campus (map) late Monday morning.

Details are still being worked out, but White House officials confirmed the visit Thursday afternoon.

People in Morgantown have been buzzing for days about the possibility that the president would make his third July Fourth visit to the Mountain State.

Leaders in Morgantown had hoped for confirmation of the visit on Wednesday. But apparently, finding a site secure enough for the Secret Service wasn't easy.

After looking at sites at Mylan Park and the Morgantown airport, the Secret Service chose the WVU location.

Officials said more details about the visit would be released on Friday.

~i know what i'm doing on the fourth. screw fireworks. the president? this is much more exciting. that's right, folks, west virginia.
