I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but it looks like he's trying to please the researcher and it breaks my heart.

If memory serves, there were a series of studies asking little kids, black and white, to pick the good babies and the smart kids. They almost without exception picked the white dolls. I believe the result was largely due to the societal portrayal of black kids vs. white kids, and a good reminder we need to look at media critically, because kids don't.

Researchers still do experiments based on the original, with similar results. It's a real eye-opener to a lot of us.

In the original experiment, the researchers were black, the results were the same.
