Pretty girls can make it all better
So it seems that there is little hope for my camera card. No other cameras will read it and neither did the little kiosk at CVS. I might try and take it to a professional camera place in town, see if there's anything they can do, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm pretty fucking devastated, not gonna lie.
So, to make myself feel better, yesterday I bought this month's copy of Vogue with Blake Lively on the cover and it was a great decision. I want to wallpaper my room in the pictures of her. I've also been watching the first season of Arrested Development. I watched the show when it was on, but never since then, so I've forgotten a lot of it and damn, this show was so great.
Speaking of great shows, have some Parks & Rec scoop. They're already 6 episodes into the third season (they want to get as many episodes done as they can before Amy Poehler has her baby) and the new season looks pretty great, although I am lol worried about April and Andy. :( lol too invested in them. But I do love that Aubrey Plaza is pretty much exactly like April. I kinda love her a lot.
Also, I just found out that Aziz Ansari introduced Kid Cudi at Bonnaroo and I had no fucking idea. I couldn't see the stage from where I was and I knew the intro was a joke (he said stuff like "Don't look at Cudi's shoes, they're shy.") but I had no idea it was him. Fail, self.
And on television, let me just say how much goddamn bullshit it is that CBS fired AJ Cook and downgraded Paget Brewster's role on Criminal Minds. There is NO reason to downgrade Paget's role when Hotch has a PERFECT DAMN EXCUSE TO GO AWAY FOR FEW EPISODES (and so do Rossi, Reid (book/lecture tours) and Morgan (visiting family)). But firing JJ pisses me off way more, probably because I'm a defensive JJ!wife. Hasn't this show made it a pretty clear plot point that JJ's job is insanely hard and not just anyone can do it AND that she's crazy dedicated to it and wouldn't leave for anything, even though she has a son and a husband, now? And now they're just going to write her off (probably say that she misses her son and wants to be a stay-at-home mom, which there is nothing wrong with that, but that is so not JJ) and UGH. I didn't watch a lot of the second half of this season of CM, I got behind and kind of forgot about it, but I will not be watching in the fall if this shit stays this way. The only good thing about this is that the entire cast has been flabbergasted and supportive on Twitter. &bff cast;
Also helping ease the pain in my knee and loss of my pictures, are the sheer amount of awesome pictures of TYV from Bonnaroo. I made a new LJ header with a photo of Jon and a wallpaper, because, well, goddamn, Jwalk looked good. I'll probably make some icons tonight, too, since I'm not working this week. (but I may get an internship/job at a screenprinting place that does posters for the Avett Brothers and other bands, so keep your fingers crossed for me, please!) There are also some good videos of TYV playing but I lost the links, they're somewhere on Tumblr. You can see me taking pictures (lol :() in one of them.
And speaking of TYV, I'm so in love with their cover of "Funnel of Love." I had never heard the original (which I downloaded and really like, too) but I really like Jon's voice on it, for some reason. I'm really in love with a lot of music, right. The Gold Motel album, which is such a great summer album, the Like album, which is so crazy different from their first but I love just as much, Travie's solo album, which I have to admit, I was a little worried about since I wasn't sure if it would work without GCH, but is awesome, the new Against Me!, which has grown on me leaps and bounds and I'm still crazy about the new Black Keys album. Oh and becs1024 sent me this Fun. album and I like it a lot, too. And I can't forget Kanye and Lupe's new songs, which are fantastic (as is this leak of a Dr. Dre and Jay-Z song I heard on Tumblr yesterday). It is a damn good summer for music.
