Up in the what?

The SAG awards were tonight and I was overall pretty pleased with the results. Michael C. Hall won for Dexter, Mad Men won for Best Drama, Christoph Waltz and Inglourious Basterds won, and even though I haven't seen Crazy Heart, I kind of adore Jeff Bridges, so I was happy that he won, too. And despite not being crazy about The Blind Side, I do like Sandra Bullock, so I wasn't disappointed by her win. Also, Frankenteen posted a picture of his SAG by his toilet so, you know, not a bad awards show night.

And since I'm on the subject of awards shows about movies, I watched Up in the Air Tonight. I understand why it's being touted around for award show wins, it's a talking movie, and critics love talking movies and George Clooney, so it makes sense. And it's certainly good at that, the acting is all-around pretty great and the message is pretty clear. "Everyone needs a co-pilot." But I'm gonna be honest, I barely even remember the first 90 minutes of the movie because I'm too riled up by the last 20.

I do not understand why Jason Reitman decided that Alex had a husband and a family. I don't get it. I can understand Alex and Ryan not ending up together, I even kind of liked the last scene, with him going into the airport and seemingly picking a flight at random off the board, but why did she have to be made into the cheating wife who breaks another man's heart? I don't know why I'm so angry about this, but the more I think about it, the more mad I get. It's just, Alex was a pretty cool character and it just feels kind of cheap that she had a family she never told Ryan about. I don't know. I get it, Alex having a family and a husband shows Ryan that he really is alone, even the woman he thought was just like him, has someone waiting for her. But it's still leaving a really bad taste in my mouth, for some reason.

I've still got a few more movies on my to-watch list (Precious, Crazy Heart, A Single Man) but I think I'm pretty much set in backing The Hurt Locker and Inglourious Basterds for the Oscars. Avatar can win all the technical awards it wants to, but it better stay away from Kathryn Bigelow and Tarantino.

Anyway, I just saw this TV meme posted on my flist by peridium and one of the only things I like talking about more than movies is television, so I'm stealing it.
Name a TV show in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Well, I just rewatched all of Dexter, so that! And I've seen most episodes of Degrassi like 6 times because I never miss a marathon.

Name a (current) show you can't miss:
Um. 24 (although I haven't started the new season yet. I have the eps downloaded though), Community, American Idol, Dexter, Mad Men, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Gossip Girl and Lost.

Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
I have Leighton Meester's mostly crappy music downloaded, I'd watch just about anything for her.

Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Stephen Baldwin

Name a show you can, and do, quote from:
Community, Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, Degrassi.

Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Outside of the internet, I'm the only person I know that likes Community. :( But also I still watch The Real World and lol no one watches that anymore.

Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
Degrassi. Dude, I bought music from that damn Degrassi Goes Hollywood soundtrack. It's actually kinda good. But the theme song isn't, I'll admit that.

Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Dexter and Community

Name a TV series you own:
Dexter, Gossip Girl, Futurama, some seasons of The Simpsons and Family Guy, first 2 seasons of Supernatural.

What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
Hmmm. I love the episode where Dexter proposes to Rita a lot. And this season when he was killing that cop who had killed her family and she's like "So, you gonna rape me, you sick fuck?" and Dexter shakes his head, "What's with you and rape? Nobody's raping anybody here!" I think it's his line delivery but it makes me laugh so hard every time.

A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
SO MANY. I have Batman The Brave and the Bold and True Blood given to me by friends to watch and also Psych, Leverage, 30 Rock, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Wire and like 12 others are on my list. THERE IS TOO MUCH TV TO WATCH.

Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
I'm basically giving up on Supernatural. I might tune in to catch an episode if it's supposed to be lolzy, since I don't watch anything on Thursdays at 9 anyway. I also stopped watching Nip/Tuck because wow, that got pretty horrible. And I'd probably still watch Smallville but it moved to Fridays and I just forget about it. Also it's terrible.

Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
Two and a Half Men and Grey's Anatomy leap to mind.

Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Futurama. There is no other answer that comes close.

Oldest TV show you like?
The Simpsons? It's been on basically my entire life.

Newest TV show you like?
Community and Modern Family

What do you eat when you watch TV?
Uh everything? My mom and I don't really do sit-down dinners together so I usually eat in front of the TV.

How often do you watch TV?
I think it's pretty obvious that the answer here is all the fucking time.

Do you have a favorite talk show?
Does The Daily Show count?

What's the last TV show you watched?
The Jersey Shore reunion

What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
Anything with over the top drama that makes me laugh.

What's your least favourite genre of TV?
Reality dating shows, unless it's Flavor/Rock of Love. Those were pretty great.

What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Do the Looney Tunes count? Because watching those are my earliest TV memories. Why don't they air the old Looney Tunes anymore? They're still fucking hilarious.

What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Um... I can't think of anything. /o\

What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Probably Snapped on Oxygen. Or like, Forensic Files.

What TV show scared you the most?
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Hmm. Honestly, Friends still makes me laugh all the time, but I think that has more to do with my history with the show than the quality. I think I have to go with SNL. For all it's faults and current crappiness, the classic sketches and casts made me laugh like nothing else.

Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
This is impossible to say overall. For comedy, I would go with All in the Family and SNL, drama I can't say because I don't think I've watched enough of the classics, new or old, reality I would say American Idol and Survivor, talk show, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and ridiculous teen drama, no one beats Degrassi, all generations.
