A few more notes on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! I'm currently in Cosmo Canyon.
Love the music this folk band in Gongaga is playing! I'm mainly making a note of this as a reminder to myself to look it up later.
(I just tried to look it up and couldn't find it! A tragedy. Apparently I'll just have to load the game and stand next to the band when I want to listen to it.)
'Oh, we can't bring Yuffie to investigate the reactor; she's untrustworthy. Let's take our best friend Cait Sith, an unknown Shinra employee who will only interact with us through his fursona.'
The Gongaga region is a real pain to navigate.

Cloud attacking Tifa is very distressing! But it's also interesting, so I'm not complaining.
Cid's pretty hot. I mean, everyone's pretty hot. Is that why Cid ends up joining our party? Are we just travelling the world, recruiting all the hot people we meet? Evidently not, because we didn't recruit Heidegger.
Chocobo catching is much too long, tedious and trial-and-error for any minigame, and especially for a minigame that's pretty much compulsory. I've taken to looking up video guides whenever the game expects me to sneak up on a chocobo.
Stop being so patronising towards Tifa, Bugenhagen! I've really taken against him in this remake.
Replaying Remake at the same time as playing Rebirth, I'm very struck by how physically familiar Barret and Tifa are with each other. I'm headcanoning that they had a casual romance before the game and, when Cloud turned up, Barret assumed that it was over; obviously Tifa's going to be more interested in Cloud now. And then they all ended up in a foursome with Aerith instead.
I switched to Barret while Tifa was unconscious during a fight, and he said, 'Gonna whoop your ass twice as hard for Tifa.' It was extremely cute!
Finally, the terrible conversation Tem and I had while I was playing Final Fantasy VII Remake this morning:
Riona: I dreamt last night that Barret was humping my foot.
Barret, in-game: I'm gonna fill you full of holes!
Tem: Is that what he said when he was humping your leg?
Riona: My foot. And no. I feel that would mean he was humping it much too hard.
Barret, in-game: I'm a ticking time bomb, and sooner or later I'm gonna have to blow up!
Riona: Now, that he said when he was humping my foot.
