'Ghosts And You Might Die' Is My Middle Name.

I just restored my saved entry draft and found I'd noted down a Death Note headcanon: L sleeps in absolutely ludicrous positions, which is disconcerting for Light when they're handcuffed together and probably have to share a bed. He keeps waking up to find L sprawled across his waist, or kneeling with his face in the pillow, or sleeping with his legs on the bed and his head on the floor.

More Master Detective Archives: Rain Code! I'm in the chapter 'A Silent Curtain Call', partway through the investigation.

I'll be honest: this entry is mainly just talking about how Yuma has a crush on everyone. I've got a real weakness for characters who seem to fall for everyone they interact with, and Yuma is a sterling example.

I can't believe Yuma is going to kill the culprit of the Nail Man murders just because he can't handle losing face in front of Halara. I know Halara is really cool, Yuma, but this is not an acceptable motive for murder.

I'm enjoying Yuma's mortification over Shinigami interacting with Halara. He's really struggling with his work crush meeting his most embarrassing friend, and it's delightful.

Halara takes hold of Yuma's hand to help him to his feet, and Yuma blushes.

Like Shuichi of Danganronpa V3, Yuma comes across to me as extremely bisexual, and I'm glad the game supports this interpretation by promptly giving Yuma a huge crush on a person he doesn't know the gender of. 'Easily flustered bisexual disaster' is one of my favourite videogame protagonist genres, and 'I don't know the gender of the person I have a crush on and I'm too afraid to ask' is such a perfect encapsulation of it.

When we learnt that Halara had no recollection of events in the Mystery Labyrinth, my first thought was 'oh, man; if we'd known this earlier, we could have had a threesome in there without any professional consequences.' I think that means I've fully entered into the spirit of this weird, horny mystery game.

If the threesome actually happened, I suspect Halara's clothes would stay on the entire time. Not because of any selfconsciousness; just because, if Yuma wants the clothes off, it's another five million shien. You only paid for assistance in the Nail Man case, Yuma; there's an extra fee if you want Halara's cooperation in solving any other mysteries you might be curious about.

When Desuhiko demonstrated his ability to perfectly disguise himself as anyone:

Tem: That's so useful if we're, say, in love with all our coworkers. You only have to seduce one of them, and then you can fuck all of them.

Desuhiko expressed disappointment that Yuma wasn't a cute girl he could have an office romance with, and we had the option to go 'why not have an office romance with me anyway?'! Yuma continues to be bisexual as hell and I'm delighted.

I love that this is a recurring theme with Spike Chunsoft protagonists, amongst whom bisexuality levels have typically ranged from 'plausible' (Naegi, Hinata) to 'probable' (Kaede, Shuichi) to 'definite' (Haruto, Yuma), steadily increasing over time. Excellent games if you like being able to ship the protagonist with anyone and everyone.

That said, Yuma, you can do better than Desuhiko. I'm not sure Halara is an ideal choice of partner either; Halara is very cool and I can't blame you for being starstruck, but you're going further into debt every time you try to hang out, and that doesn't seem sustainable.

I thought at first that Desuhiko and Yuma were going to have to infiltrate the school while holding hands so Yuma could make use of his Disguise ability. Would have been enjoyably awkward, but I can't complain about the actual outcome meaning we don't have to spend too much time with Desuhiko.

All the girls at this school think Yuma is extremely cute when he's dressed as a girl, and they're right. (Halara asked Yuma what his talents were, and my immediate response was 'Being cute and falling in love with everyone.')

The 'disguise yourself as different specific people and see how people respond to you differently based on the face you're wearing' mechanic is a pretty cool one!

I don't think this was an intentionally programmed aspect of the game - I think it was just a quirk of in-game physics - but I accidentally shut Shinigami inside a locker during the school investigation, which was pretty funny.
