Can You Repeat The Question?

I dreamt last night that Malcolm of Malcolm in the Middle was abducted, taken from his family and forced into years-long training to compete in some sort of tournament to the death.

There was a timeskip to the time of the tournament itself, and it opened with Malcolm staring at a television on which Dewey was being interviewed for a soundbite about the upcoming tournament. Malcolm was frowning slightly, as if the guy on the television was familiar to him somehow, something was bothering him about this, but he couldn't pin down what. It was strange and sad to realise he could no longer remember his family.

This is haunting me slightly; it's a concept I'm both fascinated and repelled by. It's interesting, but it's so at odds with the tone of Malcolm in the Middle!

Below the cut, my increasingly bewildered notes on Lost continue. I'm up to episode fourteen.

'Hearts and Minds': my mouth genuinely opened in shock when Locke knocked Boone out. Locke! This is not acceptable behaviour!!

Locke, what the fuck! Calm down! You don't have to act like everyone's spiritual guide with such determination that you could potentially end up killing them!

BOONE, IT IS ALSO NOT NORMAL TO PAY ALL YOUR SISTER'S BOYFRIENDS TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO BREAK UP WITH HER.

Charlie and Liam aren't the only pair of siblings with weird sexual tension in this show, apparently. Between the incestuous implications and the general weirdness, I'm starting to feel like I'm watching Revolutionary Girl Utena.

oh no oh no I'm really into this Shannon/Boone flashback in the hotel room, I've finally found something I actively ship in this show and it's catastrophic

WHAT THE FUCK this is NOT ACCEPTABLE

what the absolute fuck is going on, I wasn't ready for this episode on any level

'Special': it's fascinating that Locke attacked Boone, tied him up, put him through an incredibly traumatic experience, and now Boone is acting as his attack dog.

'Hey, we heard you like traumatised guys who've slept with the wrong people, develop ferocious loyalty to a hard-to-trust man who takes them under his wing, and are canonically referred to as attack dogs,' Lost whispers, in its continued efforts to exploit my fondness for John Reese.

This is getting silly, Lost. This is the third time you've tried to sell me on a character based on their similarity to Reese. They can't all be Reese. Can't wait for the revelation that Shannon has committed countless government-sanctioned murders.

Lost must have been a real experience to watch when it first came out. I can't imagine what all the episode reactions and speculation must have looked like.

malcolm in the middle, person of interest, lost, utena, we all love hearing about dreams right?
