Teamwork Means Staying Out Of My Way.

I seem to have fallen very suddenly and sharply back in love with Final Fantasy VIII. The plot may be completely incoherent, the love story may be awkwardly told, but oh, that cast. Particularly Squall, who I think may actually be my favourite Final Fantasy character of all. Probably one of my top ten fictional characters of all time, in fact ( Read more... )

I know nothing about Final Fantasy, but Irvine would be an awesome-looking female character.

During the first Laguna dream, I actually panicked and thought something might have gone wrong with the disc. I refused to save because I was so afraid I wouldn't go back to playing as Squall. I came to adore Laguna later, though.

I've never had the nerve to give the hot dogs order! I've always been tempted to, because I'm curious about what Squall actually says, but I'm scared Nida will tell me off. Perhaps I should have done it for Zell's sake.

I seem to remember that I did have Irvine in my party on my first playthrough, despite having taken against him at first. I think it was because my party was Squall-Zell-Rinoa, and then Rinoa went out of commission for most of the third disc. Irvine was the highest-levelled of the others, so he replaced her. I know what you mean! I tend to think of Riona as totally charming and instantly likeable, because I like her and I know lots of other people who do, so I'm kind of surprised whenever she doesn't react the same way.

Thank you! I'm a little more confident online than I am in real-life interaction, but that's still nice to hear.

I'm looking through our old e-mail exchanges about Final Fantasy VIII now, and I am enormously amused by them. I love how annoyed you become with everyone.

I just wanted one sensible person. One.

Mind, most of them were teenagers and still more sensible than James Sunderland.
