I Don't Think 'ASDGHGJDHJGH' Is A Spoiler.

Okay, no episode of anything has ever made me exclaim 'OH MY GOD' aloud quite as much as that did. That was completely amazing. (And now I'm just muttering 'completely amazing' to myself, over and over again. I FREAKING LOVE YOU, SUPERNATURAL.)

So, who else saw the date and immediately thought 'LIFE ON MARS CROSSOVER'?

Time travel is awesome! Meeting young John Winchester is awesome! Persuading him to buy the Impala! (Dean, I think that alone is worth your going back in time.) Freaking him out with questions about cattle mutilation! But I think the point at which I realised this was totally going onto my 'favourite episodes' list was 'Mom's a babe. I'm going to hell. Again.'

AND THEN MARY BEAT HIM UP AND TURNED OUT TO BE A HUNTER AND WE FOUND OUT THE BACKSTORY OF THAT NIGHT IN 1983 AND THE AWESOMENESS JUST KEPT ESCALATING. I AM SO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED.

I just want to dance. Such a good episode! Such a good episode, in fact, I can overlook the fact that Sam was only in it for three seconds. But let's have some more Sam in the next episode, all right? Season Four has been terribly Dean-centric so far, and, much as I love Dean (and excellent as 'Lazarus Rising' and 'In the Beginning' were), that's not really fair.

Lack of Sam aside, this season is shaping up to be utterly brilliant. Eeeeeeeeeee!

EDIT: twicetheheart31 has pointed out that this is why Mary apologised to Sam in 'Home'. All the way back in the ninth episode, and we get the explanation almost three seasons later. I completely trust the writers to give us an overall story that all fits together now.

Also, the cycle of Winchesters sacrificing themselves for each other goes further back than we thought. My heart!

oh my /god/!, life on mars, supernatural
