See? I Can Still Make Non-Supernatural Entries.

'Living the Dream' aired in the UK two days ago, and you know what? I'm really impressed by the fourth season of House. Seriously, how many series could shove half the main cast into the background (when two of the three remaining cast members have fairly limited screentime already), replace them with entirely new characters and have it work? I miss Chase and Cameron, yes (Foreman isn't quite absent enough for me to miss him, and I never really reached the CRAZY HEARTS level of adoration for him that I had for Chase and Cameron, anyway, although I definitely miss the Foreman/Cameron interaction (INEXPLICABLE OTP)), but I like Kutner, I love Thirteen and... well, actually, I'm not entirely sure what Plastic Surgeon Guy's name is. And not in the good Doctor/Janitor/Thirteen (not a threesome, but what a threesome that would be) way, either. BUT STILL. KUTNER AND THIRTEEN. THUMBS UP.

I was unhappy with the third season, largely because I felt that Cameron, whom I had absolutely adored in the first two, had had her characterisation thoroughly stomped over. Perhaps it was supposed to show that associating with House had made her less principled and compassionate, but I still found it distressing. Thirteen reminds me of the Cameron I first fell in love with, while still being different enough not to feel like a total clone. I was pretty startled by the SUDDEN DUCKLING RESHUFFLE, and I sort of expected it to be terrible, but in fact it was exactly the refreshing change I needed to get me interested in House again.

(Also, I want Cameron/Thirteen. JUST, YOU KNOW, IF YOU'RE LISTENING. SCRIPTWRITERS? YOU ALL READ THIS JOURNAL, RIGHT?)

weird pairings, house
