Tee hee! Lucy called me this morning to let me know that we weren't opening at 8 am. (Which goes straight under the "Well, DUH!" category). However, the District Manager, Tina, had said that due to the snow, its ok not to open at 8, but to go ahead and open late, around 11.
Snicker, chortle, guffaw.
So it's now 11:41, and I called the store. No answer. I called the stores in Sterling, Reston, Winchester and McLean, just on a lark. No answer. So I called Lucy back and told her ain't no way I'm'a be in today, to which SHE said "Well, DUH!"
In my case, to just hit Sterling Boulevard, which *may* have had some snow pushed aside, I'd have to shovel a car-wide path for half a mile of pristine, Hollywood-Winter-In-Montana-type snow.
Ain't happ'nin'.
I know, this is a horrible work ethic. After all the wonderful things our shareholders have done for us, I truly owe them my best efforts to dig half a miles worth of snow out of my way, drive the 15 miles to Leesburg in life-threatening conditions, work a full shift, if not possibly a double, just to make sure the store is open its full scheduled hours, just on the off chance one waterhead, redneck, mouth-breathing moron with snowshoes and zero sense thinks, "Pussies BETTER be open."
But I just can't bring myself to think anything other than the age-old mantra, "Fuck the shareholders."
