WARNING: MAJOR ANGST AHEAD!!
Savior

Hearing the voices outside his room, Drew opens his eyes and listens to the laughter and jokes. One voice strikes him alone in the dark as it raises in delight and joy, pure and clean.
Jeff.
Sucking in a deep but shaky breath, Drew steps out of his bed and pads softly toward the door in the vain chance that he might be able to hear that laughter once more before he tries to go back to sleep.
Once at the door, Jeff laughs again and Drew stops, almost in pain because of the tangled emotions he’s feeling inside right now. Part of him wants to step through the door and tell Jeff how he feels about him while the rest of him screams at how sinful and wrong these feelings are.
Turning away from the door, he staggers back to the bed and collapses allowing a small whimper to escape his throat and cries himself to sleep.

Stepping up onto the bus, Drew curses softly as he drops his CD’s and watches them scatter across the floor. Bending down to pick them up he freezes as a hand appears out of nowhere and hands him one of the fallen discs.
Looking up, he locks eyes with Jeff as the other smiles at him and asks if he’s all right. Not trusting his voice, he nods jerkily and walks away, seeking the privacy and shelter of his bunk.
Coward.
He ignores the small voice in the back of his mind as he arranges himself into a semi-comfortable position on the bunk.
If you talk to him you might be surprised at what he’ll say.
He tells the voice in his head to go away and leave him alone in his misery.
Fine, be like that but don’t ruin your life by not allowing yourself to feel and follow the feelings in your heart.
Then the silence descends and he sighs softly, knowing that if he makes too much noise that Jeff might come and see if he’s all right. Closing his eyes against the tears he silently prays for someone to save him and take away these feelings he shouldn’t have and can’t seem to control.

He walks into the studio and smiles, igniting a new fire in Drew’s soul as he walks toward where Drew is sitting. Plastering a smile on his face and silently hoping it looks real, Drew laughs and jokes with him as they wait for the others to arrive.
Drew ignores that voice screaming his mind again.
Talk to him!! TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM!!! It’s the only way you’ll ever come back to yourself!!
He turns his head as the others arrive and walks away to talk to them, not seeing the slightly raised hand and small plea that escapes Drew.
“Wait…Jeff…I just wanted to…”
Drew lowers his head to hide the unshed tears and shame in his eyes and starts studying the song they’re supposed to record today.

Drew freezes as Jeff introduces him to a woman holding a small child.
His daughter!?! See, now you’ve done it! If you had just told him when I told you to, you wouldn’t have to face this now would you??
Knowing that he has to say something before the silences becomes awkward and uncomfortable, Drew smiles and jokes about Jeff hiding them from the group.
Jeff laughs and gives Drew a playful punch on the arm and turns to introduce her to the rest of the people present.
Great, now it’s too late to do anything but live with it. I hope you’re happy now.
Cursing his own foolishness, Drew walks away and heads for his car; knowing his absence will be missed and not really caring.

Drew looks up from the song he’s working on as the knock comes to the door. Shaking his head in annoyance he ignores the sound and goes back to his work.
Then the person knocking begins to shout through the closed door. Drew’s head shoots upward in shock as he recognizes Jeff’s voice.
He knows!! Now he’s angry because you didn’t tell him before! Now you’ve done it!
Knowing that it’ll just be worse if he ignores him, Drew opens the door and lets Jeff inside, just noticing that it’s raining outside and Jeff is thoroughly soaked.
Muttering an apology, he turns to retrieve a towel and freezes when Jeff places his hand on his shoulder asking him to wait.
Turning to face the other man, he raises his eyes and swallows thickly. This is it, he’s going to lose it and tell me never wants to see me again.
Instead Jeff looks at him with concern and asks him what’s wrong.
KISS HIM!!! DO IT!! NOW!!
Obeying the voice, Drew leans in and kisses Jeff quickly pulling back before he has a chance to respond. Stepping just out of reach, he winces as Jeff stares at him with a perplexed look on his face.
Jeff steps forward and quickly grabs Drew as he tries to back up. Holding his upper arms tightly, Jeff struggles for a moment, asking Drew to stop and look up at him.
Drew whimpers softly as the hand cups his chin and forces him to look up into those blue eyes filled with….he’s not sure what it is exactly that he’s seeing but he does know that it’s not anger.
He gasps in surprise as Jeff leans down and kisses him again. After a moment, Jeff breaks the kiss and tells him that it’s about time they did that because he was getting tired to wondering what was going on.
Drew leans in against the taller mans chest and sighs as he feels Jeff’s arms come up and surround him, not caring that he’s getting wet from the shirt Jeff has on but feeling safe and secure in the arms of someone who he should have been honest with long ago.
