Sometimes whine comes with actual cheese.

Today is one of those days when all I really want to do is cry but can't. And I'm so dense it only made sense around midday ( Read more... )

Oh God, I'm so sorry to hear that. *Big hugs* To be honest, I'm pretty shocked, too, because I guess I (wrongly?) generally associate TIAs and strokes mainly with people older than myself.

I really hope the hospital are going to be able to help him - you must be worried sick.

If it's of any comfort, my father-in-law has had symptoms that turned out to be the precursors of a stroke for years and he's still OK.

Yeah, he contacted a doctor who's been a family friend a long time and she told him to get those tests done now. It is extremely rare for a guy in his mid-thirties to get anything like that! He doesn't even smoke or drink, his cholesterol has always been normal, and blood sugar too. The grand irony is that he's even lost weight this year.

It's been over an hour now, three since I drove him there. I'm keeping cool with the aid of coffee and a four year old.

Yeah, I remember you saying that he had been (still is?) dieting and had lost weight. It just seems totally *wrong* that this has happened to him. Please, do keep us posted with any updates.

This is going to sound dumb, but I think I'm doing your crying for you! I started crying shortly after answering your post and ended up phoning my partner up and sniffling down the phone to him. I guess it's because I care about you a lot and I get really distressed when worrying and bad shit happens to people I care about. My partner sends his best wishes, by the way.

Another hour past, no word. This calls for a stupid reality-tv episode.

*sniffle*

Very sorry to hear that. I hope the test results are reasonably positive. Do eat chocolate, and maybe the crying will sneak up on you and you can let it out. *hugs* Keep the world posted.

Thanks. It just seems that when shit goes down it really tends to go down all the way. Thank goodness the worst has been averted now.
