Is it safe to come out?
>.>
My "forgotten weekend" is definitely done now. I've pulled myself together, with superglue even, and I whipped up an apple dessert to prove it, so there!
In all seriousness. I've immersed myself in activities. I washed some of our carpets, today I washed the windows, I've been swimming and fixing the garden and we spent one whole day in an activity/amusement park. This on top of my active work, and I've witnessed one never-before-seen, extremely miraculous phenomenon of a tan. Really! I have a goddamn tan! *fans self*
Yesterday my daughter caught a stomach flu, so that day was pretty full of moaning, groaning and retching. But the man, bless him, let me out for the night after the kids were put to bed and I got to do a karaoke contest. No, didn't win, bugger. There was very little competition anyway. But I had two people telling me I was better than the girl who won, and when I sang one song after the competition the second judge ran after me to tell me I should definitely do that song in the semifinals (where I'll be invited if the winner doesn't go).
And then the zinger. I've reached my father. Found his old e-mail a week ago, wrote a short query and got nothing. Until yesterday, when he wrote back telling he'd moved and just had an internet connection installed right that day. Just for reference, last time I saw him or communicated in any way was about two years ago if not more, and the time before that, I was pregnant with #2, and before that when I was 14.
So. Err, yay?
ETA: Oh yes! It's been smoldering hot hot hot in here, sweating buckets and so forth. Hence every physical exertion has been followed by an hour plus of drooling-on-the-sofa-pillow strength fatigue. But today has been much better, only around 23 degrees C and sunny, so we've managed to drop the indoors temperature down to an amazing 24! This house builds up the heat like none other I tell you. All doors&windows open >24 hrs and still; inside it's 2-3 degrees warmer, minimum.
Also, I am watching this update window on a brand spanking new flat screen monitor. Wowza. It was also cheap as it was the last of its kind in the store.
stepping out,
family matters
