The show is over!
The letdown after a show is always a bummer. To sum up a long weekend, the kids did INCREDIBLE!!!! The show was awesome, they did such a nice job. I was so proud. We even had a slammin cast party after saturday's show. The kids went buck wild!!! Luckily the restaurant had an adjacent room so all the kids went in there and were loud, and the adults were out in the main room mingling. The food was good, and I made a little presentation for the kids with the cake. The cast got me flowers both nights, but the best was they got me this huge spa treatment gift certificate and gave it to me at the cast party!!! It rocks. I can't wait to use it.
So the aftermath is now in place. Of course you have the severe exhaustion of finally stopping the craziness of rehearsals and shows. I am so freakin tired. Second, you are completely bummed it is over, and sad. Which happened today when we took down the sets. But I am ready for some relaxing. So now I am sitting in my sweats, watching cross country skiing because nothing else is on tv, and picking at the icing from the cast party cake. I'm not depressed really...... :)
Anyway I do have a sweet week coming up. Tomorrow off but I have my nat. board class all day, Tuesday professional day with music teacher meetings at my school, Wednesday - Into the Woods tour to the Elementary Schools!, Thursday is a regular day, and Friday off for the state conference. Can't beat one day of teaching!
