Samuli Vauramo could have had shrapnel on his face, if George Clooney hadn't stepped in. Vauramo told about the accident in YleX Morning.
Hollywood-star George Clooney was very strict that the stunts of the film The American went smoothly without too much danger.
- George made sure they were done safely, Samuli Vauramo, who had a small role in the film, tells in YleX interview
- On the shoot, they planned to blow up a car window so that the shrapnel would have flown on my face. Clooney said that, "that they should test it first without the actor in the car".
After that the scene was filmed so that Vauramo had time to move his head so that the shrapnel hit the back of his head.
On the radio interview Vauramo describes Clooney a reserved, but nice guy.
- When he had observed a while, how this young dude is behaving he let me get closer, Vauramo says.
In The American Vauramo has a small supporting role, but that has helped him in his career as an actor. He says he's had chances to meet people, he wouldn't have earlier, and he's taken more seriously now than before.
After The American Vauramo got a role on TV series called H+, which is produced by Bryan Singer.
