I'm on kidsitter duty for the time being - my GA had to bring her daughter to work, but she's in class. Her (the kid) name is Shania and she's adorable, but she's a handful. This is the second time this week I've been on babysitting duty in the office, but I don't mind at all. Quite the contrary. I want to have one. I want that desperate love that you can only have for a child. I want the worry and the wonder and everything in between. But that's not in the cards for me at the moment.
No news on the NaNo front... I'm in a slump. Oh, well.
We also haven't heard anything about the CFR job. But I heard it through the grapvine (insert visual of the California Raisins dancing) that Tyler was one of three applicants - the other two being Russell (confirmed) and Kevin (rumored). It'll be a tough choice. So any prayers that this works out for us would be greatly appreciated.
SHOUTOUTS!!!
kellypen : I know what you mean about the YaYa books. I discovered them about seven years ago, and they totally changed the way I looked at the mother-daughter relationship. Have you read 'YaYa's in Bloom?' It's the latest in the series, and it's excellent as well.
ohginnyfan : I'm happy to hear that your son is doing better. I'll keep you both in my prayers.
tante_in_hp : Have fun with the kiddos at the Train Museum. My nephew went through a train phase. Now he's into John Deere tractors, which is fabulous because he lives near a John Deere dealership. Before that, his thing was vacuum cleaners. For real. If he was good, he reward was to go to the Oreck Vacuum store. I used to invite him over all the time - my carpets were never cleaner ;)
fundan : Where are you off to? And congrats to new dad Ethan. Who tells the worst stories in the world. I still remember the one about the guy falling off the overpass. Let's just hope he never gets on bedtime story duty.
Okay, I'm off to the races. Not really.
