ok, its been a while since ive updated this puppy, so i guess i better do that, huh?
i did end up hearing from the england lady, whose excuse for not getting back to me was that she was in massachusetts and got caught in the presidents day storm. hmm...i believe i emailed her at least a week before that storm, so unless she was in massachusetts for over a week, that is BS. but anyway...she said that last year there was a waiting list to go to england and by mid summer there were 6 spots OPEN. she didnt tell me how many people were ON the waiting list, which i specifically asked. so i still really have no idea as to what the precedent is of the number of people off the waiting list that get to go. she sounded positive, which is a good thing, but its all speculation at this point. she said some people will probably drop out after spring break and then some more will probably drop out when a payment is due, and that is in june. at any rate, i have decided to sign a lease if i absolutely have to, and then sublease my spot to someone if i am in england. pain in the butt? yes. worth it to get to go to england for a year? yes.
speaking of signing leases, lisa and i are going to drive around and look at houses today. i have a list of houses for rent that were posted on the student housing website, and most of them fit our criteria. we are going to drive by them and look at the outside, which doesnt really say much, but none of the landlords that i called called me back. we are also going to look for "for rent" signs and write down phone numbers. hopefully we can make some appointments to look at some houses next week or something. i dont know. we were going to do that after yoga and lunch today, but im thinking about skipping yoga cuz im really sore from spinning yesterday. so then we could go eat lunch at like 11:30 and then go look at houses. lisa didnt want to go too late, so that might be better.
the other thing that i need to do today is figure out my classes for next semester. next YEAR, actually. school is starting a new "full year registration" process, so i will have to register for the next TWO semesters when i register next. its not a very big deal to me, it will just take some extra planning. the only problem i can see with it is that there are a lot of majors that have programs that you have to apply for and can only get into the classes if you get into the programs. but you can only apply after you have taken certain courses. blah blah blah....i would explain it more, but it doesnt really affect me, so i dont care that much. it always takes me a long time to figure out classes, so i might just end up spending the whole time between now and lunch doing that.
